Replacement Mirror Glass
« on: December 24, 2019, 03:05:02 PM »
First day after finally getting bike back on road, after getting bike up too standard. I had it on side stand instead of centre and gust of wind blew it over. Smashing right mirror and breaking surround into 3 pieces.

I can repair surround but not mirror.

Finally found someone who actually custom makes Car/ Bikes mirror glass.

He can use stock proper curved glass or flat vehicle mirror glass, removed from other vehicle mirrors however is curved is very hard to work with as it is thinner.

Broke two making mine out of ex police vehicle mirror.

He charges $60 for left or right mirror inc fitting on premises, he now has template for ST1100. He can make any mirror and shapes it too fit surround as OEM.

The gentleman has been in glass industry for 30+ years.

His details are as follows:

For us SA folk, Glenelg Glass at 76 Brighton Road Glenelg East did a terrific job when replacing my LHS mirror, using the mirror glass that makes things look close (really close) - I really like it. I also got a mirror glass on the Yammie MT-03 replaced. Both combined cost $60. I was very happy.
