Sorry boys and girls, we won't be around to make Walhalla this time, we'll be off riding in the 'shaky isles'.
Back just in time for some Super Bikes @ the Island.
Have a great time
Cheers

Have you planned anything for march?  Asking before I commit to something else.

Yes, and it might suit you, at least a little better than some of the alternatives.  Here's a DRAFT calendar for VIC RTE 2020

The Tallangatta event did not occur because of the bushfires, Walhalla is a goer next weekend, I need to add the RTE Avonsleigh on 29 February, and then organise something for Curdievael / Boggy Creek Hotel for 7 March, stand by for a thread on that one.

For the months of April, May, June and July - we will be in the UK, IRE & EUR so won't have time to organise events for those months.   I have asked Garry & Marcus to help each other with RTE arrangements for those months.  When I return in July, there'll be plenty of time to organise RTE for the rest of the year.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

That's  a long weekend here too.  Roster pending and hopefully an early finish on the friday could make this a real possibility.

I have a suggested location... Maldon, Victoria

I spent some time there today doing some photography.  It is a nice run in from the Freeway, and then a nice ride out towards Castlemaine, or Daylesford depending on which direction you need to go.

Not sure where, the hotel seems nice, but not sure about accommodating lots of people for Lunch... the Maldon Cafe was nice, a bit slow on the food, again not sure about how many they can accommodate, they are right next door to the hotel.

It's time we can start planning VIC RTE's in-line with the latest advice from the VIC Government. Here's an extract from the DHHS website:

Under the proposed plan, restaurants, cafes and and other hospitality businesses will be able to resume dine-in service:
  • From 1 June with up to 20 patrons per enclosed space
  • From 22 June with up to 50 patrons per enclosed space
  • With up to 100 patrons per enclosed space during the second half of July
Full details here: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/gradual-re-opening-cafes-restaurants-to-dine-in-customers-from-June

I have been chatting with Garry (ppopeye), we have concluded that an RTE may be achievable up to or including Sunday 21 June 2020, and only if there is a suitable venue, and host, that is wiling to accomodate 10 to 20 of us.  This is likely to be at a venue that we have previousy attended which we know has a suitable enclosed space for our little group, and because the host will know us as being reliable in filling a booking.

So when we have a venue and a date, I'll post an RTE thread, people will be able to indicate their attendance (or not).  I'll need to draw a line at 20.

So, in the meantime, keeps some dates free if you can.  To assist, here are a few Saturday, Sunday and Queen's Birthday dates to keep in mind.

Finally, let me know if there are any dates that do not suit, and these will be kept in mind.

The VIC RTE Executive will need to decide on if no. 21 to indicate their preference to attend is an ST rider takes preference over a BMTroubleyou rider.

Stand by for a decision.

At this stage probably any of those days would suit me, assuming I've bought a new rear tyre by then...  :thumbs

Sue said she probably won't risk going to any RTE's at this stage but she's given me permission to go if I want to...  :grin

Debbie and I can make any of the dates so lets start the list as we are busting for a ride. I would like to suggest that Foster in Gippsland may be suitable as a destination. It has a pub, motel, bakery, gardens and many interesting roads in the area. Nice for a day ride or even an overnighter.
Hope all our fellow Ozstocers are well and have been able to stay safe. See you all soon Rex and Debbie

We seem to be developing a theme here and on the FB page, for an RTE to South Gippsland.  Must keep in mind, we and our hosts, will be better off if they a have an emclosed space for 10 to 20 peoples.

Going on expressions of interest so far, we have:

  • Helen & Michael - (2)
  • Nigel - (3)
  • Jonathon & Vera - (5)
  • Rex & Debbie - (7)
  • Garry - (eight)
  • Russel & Sue - (10)
  • Once we get here - (20), there's no more room.

Spaces filling fast, we are half way there.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Not the first time you've done this, but is there any reason why you write eight alphanumerically when you use digits for other numbers?  Just curious.

When I type these characters ( 8 ) in this order but without the space between the open bracket, the 8 and the close bracket, I get this (8).

What happens when you try it?
