I have been here before but not for many many years. I am the "Jinxy" referred to by "Diesel" (Dave) in his amusing story.
Spent 34 years with Qld Police and became what was known as a "Shit magnet". Every shift , every time there was something happening.
People at work just started calling me "Jinxy". Some never knew my first name and the name stuck and my Black Aura still exists.

My rider AKA was/is Cookie First thing I did in 1988 After Joining Army Reserves as a truckie, not qualified to drive so was asked to cook for the unit as the real cook was not on exercise.

Why Viking though?  Do you have Scandinavian blood?

Not Scandinavian, Mostly Germania, Swedish and Dane from my father's side and Irish on my mother's.

The thing is most of us with European bloodlines have Viking heritage. They did like to roam around for farmers and fisherman

I suppose I can enter the fray, mine came from a guy at work. When I put my helmet on the desk, he looked at it then at me and said, 'I've seen buckets that are smaller than that'. It started as 'Buckethead', then over time got shortened to what it is. Many younger workers only ever knew me as Bucket.

Mine came about when the ex and I were looking to breed Staffies- It was a possible kennel name (that got rejected) and I adopted it on a forum somewhere and have used it ever since.

Probably good here, seeing as how I am yet another Dave. :grin

Hi Everyone.  Happy to be here.
My handle is Ciaporkchop.  I've been a Porkchop since 1998 when I enrolled in the CIA (The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park NY USA) to get a cooking degree.  I've been cooking in kitchens from 5yrs old, and started as a dishwasher in 1992 at 15.  I'm still in the business, now proudly bringing California-style burgers to Australia via Slim's Quality Burger (3 locations in Sydney and 2 drive-thrus in Brisbane).

Ciaporkchop was the email address I created on day one at school- and it has followed me ever since.  CHEERS

Welcome, Porkchop.  I'm in north Brisbane.  Looking at the Slim's site, you have a very long commute if you travel from Noosaville to Kippa-Ring every day!
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
