I'm a bit happier with the styling now I see it in red with the top box, but typically, Honda missed a key spec: they put on a piddling 19.5 litre tank.
Seriously!  Why can't they get the basics right?
Even they recognise the 1300 V twin with a 10:1 compression ratio is too good to tamper with.
Sorry mate, but as much as I would like to like it, there's too many good things been left off it, like an electric screen being replaced by a louvre blade that puts the wind right on your face.

AND the horn and indicator switches are upside-down on this bike too!!!  Are they trying to capture their riders so that they can't ride any other maker's bike without looking foolish?

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

no Diesel surprisingly not. at stop or slow of course but even the top of motor is quite cool definitely not like the ST1100. so far brilliant. doing a Sunday ride with my Ulysses group and Ill post my opinion early next week. yeah the tank is disappointing and the thing is better in real life. the switches are strange but hey Ill get used to it. as for the screen mine has an aftermarket taller one and yes the wind hits me around the chest to neck area but Sunday will be the big test. PS I like the original ST1100 screen and I think the buffeting is around the same area of the body of the CTX. as they say each to there own and I've liked the CTX since I first saw it on our club site in late 20014 but seeing it for the first time in real time I've fallen more in love with it even more. would never have an big faringed bike till I bought the 1100. thanks for the fix as Id forgotten how to do pictures

I saw a few CTXs on Bike Sales last night showed both red and blue models to Heather and red seemed to suit the bike better than the blue. Something for us to consider in a couple years time especially if cruise control and a towbar can be fitted.

MC Cruise should be able to adapt an ST1300 unit quite easily since it's the same engine.
And yes, Red suits go-fast bikes best.  We already knew that!    :whistle

yes red really makes the bike. tow bar can be supplied by classic industries at $450 . went for big ride Sunday and WOW what a bike. my 1100 was hotter on legs in about all circumstances but a bit hot at slow or stopped as id expect of any bike. did work out its not an ST as i started scrapping pegs. comfortable seat. all in all it great

I read about the scraping pegs issue in a review which was a little off putting but under my everyday riding it shouldn't be an issue - I did check Classic a few days ago and a CTX didn't show up but I notice they have trailers back on the site now.

maybe Honda thought that 19.5 liters was enuff after they reduced the power from 87Kw to 62Kw

And there I was thinking they had kept the beautiful 1300cc donk intact, just chroming the headers.
