Title: New Screen...
Post by: bikerpaul on April 24, 2014, 10:10:05 AM
Ive read a few posts in here re new screens.... are you guys telling me I dont have to pay nearly $600 for a new screen ? that's the price my local Honda dealer wants for an OEM screen.
Where do I get screens from, does anyone have a good secondhand one that will fit my 2000 ST1100, are they cheap new, I need to know these things lol.

Paul.

There's this one on E-bay

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NATIONAL-CYCLE-Replacement-Screen-Windshield-1990-2002-Honda-ST1100-Windscreen-/181381629034 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NATIONAL-CYCLE-Replacement-Screen-Windshield-1990-2002-Honda-ST1100-Windscreen-/181381629034)

and a two piece here

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MRA-HONDA-ST1100-PAN-EUROPEAN-SCREEN-VARIO-SCREEN-WINDSCREEN-WINDSHIELD-31920-/221419304663 (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MRA-HONDA-ST1100-PAN-EUROPEAN-SCREEN-VARIO-SCREEN-WINDSCREEN-WINDSHIELD-31920-/221419304663)

This one looks similar to the first E-bay link I put up

http://rifle.com/Motorcycle-Windshields/Honda/Honda-ST1100-Replacement-Windshield.aspx (http://rifle.com/Motorcycle-Windshields/Honda/Honda-ST1100-Replacement-Windshield.aspx)

If you want to go OEM then

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/honda/HP-64150-MAJ-A00.html (http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/honda/HP-64150-MAJ-A00.html)

Which ever one you go for you'll be paying no more than half of local dealer price delivered to your door

And a local one as well

I have the rifle and I cant recommend it highly enough its about 200% better then the original.
the previous screen came from David Silver spares and was too high so I cut 50 mm of the top which made it better but the flip up on the top creates buffeting. Any way an owl destroyed it giving me the opportunity to try the rifle. Happy days.

Paul,
Here's a link to BikeQuip, who do a range of accessories for ST's.
http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/st1100_windscreens.html (http://www.st1300-accessories.co.uk/st1100_windscreens.html)
I have his screen for my ST1300 and it's fantastic, but I have no personal knowledge of the ST1100 screen.    Perhaps someone on the forum will have some first hand experience with the 1100 BikeQuip screen.

Where are you located Paul???
I think someone here is doing a DSS order soon. Last time I ordered 3 screens. They came in around $150 ea including shipping with all 3 and i chucked a heap of other stuff in the box too.
I am not sure how happy Hoffy is with his DSS screen so if you are in WA you may be able to get from him.

Pezzz, I'm in the NT about 2 hours south of Darwin, I've had a good look at all the links that Alans1100 put up and I've decided to go with the local bloke, Screens For Bikes down in SA.
I like the look of their 'Summer Screen' a shorty version of the normal one.

Cheers all.

Paul, Peter at Screens for Bikes does good work  :like He did a summer screen for our  :blk13 and while it didn't suit our riding style that was no reflection upon his screen......it was very well made, fit was spot on and very easy to deal with  :thumbsup

I can recommend Screens For Bikes too. Have one on my 1100 and on my 650 Dominator as well. Peter will make to whatever size you want.
