It's a great deal indeed  :like I grabbed a set too, as what ever goes on the rear for NR2016 is going to get flogged in the centre going over the Paddock.....may as well be a great tyre at a brilliant price than a PR4 at full coin.  :whistle

Going to follow PC's line of thought and take a rear with me in the trailer to swap out where needed......not many things bug me more than giving away tread when but a tyre on during a trip  :nahnah I paid for all the tyre I want to use it all  ;-*

Its not dead in the water just yet.....with the current trailer build up  :eek Im hoping to loose a 100Kg.....decrease the heat/wear etc to stay with the bike tyre.....Darkside is the plan "B"  ;-*

I had a set of these but I found them to be a good gripping tyre but too soft and therefore wore out to quickly..

I've got the PR4's and love them.... best tyre I've had on the bike...

I hope these go to some good OzStoc homes  o:)

I have taken a set just now.....still 2 sets available.
Erring on the side of caution for the big trip across the paddock.
If the wear rate of the pirelli's is as rapid as Sabie has experienced then the PR3's will come in handy  :thumbsup

Hey Stimpy

Not rapid as to be unreasonably rapid but not in the realms of the Bridgestones or the Michelin's, but very much have superior grip and handling over the Bridgestones and Michelin's which is the trade off I suppose.

That's the extent of my experience in motorcycle tyres as that's all I had on my bike so I can't speak on any other brands etc.

My rear with unknown KM's on it when i got the bike flattened off on the Balranald ride.
Still has plenty of meat on it....
I replaced the front when i got back - it was shagged but i knew before departing it was close to it's used by date.
Having had PR3's on old silver & the K11 before it, i know the lifespan is pretty good(25k +)
I do like the pirelli's but i will wait & see how the front wears in the months leading up to NR16 departure.
For the price i don't mind sacrificing them on the perth trip  :grin

To get that sort of Mileage Leo you'll need to be on top of the maintenance all of the time. Making sure pressures are correct and trying to achieve balanced riding across all of the tyre.

Good luck, make sure they don't go off while in storage (go hard)

Is that  $250 for a pair?  (and do PR3's come in a GT version?)  If so, that is very cheap!

I have angels on the 13 at the moment, but am wondering about PR3/4.. the angels don't seam real good in the wet (I ride wet or dry, but try find cover when it hails  :whistle )

12,000 on the angels at the moment (came with the 13 when I bought it just before the national rally)

That is $250 take them home and fit them yourself or $300 and do what I am going to do, take them home then bring them back when you want to get them fitted there will be no charge as you have paid it in the $300

Fingers crossed he can get his hands on a few more sets.
I guess it just goes to show how much profit there is on tyres if they can sell them for $250 albeit a superseded generation of tyre.

Hail in Toowoomba was only small but was widespread
Bigger hail down Stanthorpe way hope no one got hurt or damage
I know someone just north of Stanthorpe who had photos on Facebook of the hail
I'm pleased I wasn't out in it
