Considering the popularity of our last RTE at Robe and a look at the numbers for 2019 I contacted the Caravan Park to see if we it's possible for a group discount.

Thanks for that Alan,

As it is only a 1 night stay and a Saturday night in our busy season it makes it a little hard to offer much of an incentive to come to the park however if we can secure 10 bookings from your group we will offer a 5% discount for non-ocean view  sites and all cabins.  The sites will be $36 per night for 2 people.  Ocean view and waterfront sites won’t be discounted but you are most welcome to book.  These sites will be $42 and $47 per night for 2 people.  Cabins will range from $80 for 2 people per night for a beach shack to $147 for an ocean view deluxe cabin which includes the discount. 
Should you wish for further information please don’t hesitate to contact me again.  If your members decide to book please make sure they mention they are from Ozstoc Motorcycle club to receive any discount.

Found this out today when I made the booking via there Facebook page

The hotel does have accommodation as well.

8 en suite rooms for $100 a night. First in basis until full offered to our group that wish to stay the night there.

They also have shared facility rooms. So a basic room with showers and toilet down the hallway. These rooms we can offer at $70.

Currently have small cabin  can upgrade to 2 bedroom  1 with double bed  1 with 2 single  195/night   thoughts

If you want to you can make a reply post up asking if anyone wants to ride together, give a location and a time to go and see what happens.

Generally because members are so wide apart the venue is the meeting point with a time that gives everyone a chance to arrive in time for a meal and a brief chat before hand. Some who live close to each other often choose a meet up location and ride as a group.

There's no set end time for a lunch time RTE but generally in SA everyone is gone by about 2:30pm

For an overnighter like Robe I've made the meet time at the hotel for 6 pm which gives time for everyone to arrive at their accommodation and organise themselves for the evening.

When we did last Robe it was about 9:30pm when those who stayed in the park took a leisurely stroll back.

Hi all, I for one, dont have a set routine about riding with or, on my pat malone. No particular reason just sort of what happens. I`m booked at the Caravan park for 2 so will leave around 8.30 for a 3 oclock arrival. Settle, maybe have a poke around , and take it all a bit slowly. Dont like to rush about ,thats for sure. If I run into someone on the way then thats`fine.  As I am easy going I`m not really in a hurry to get any where. I know all this does is confuse but thats me I guess. Nigel :eek

We plan to leave about 7am which will be more like 7:30 but the idea is good. Stop off at Burra for breakfast, maybe a stop at Sedan and the Bridge for fuel and lunch and brief stops at Meningie and Kingston to stretch the time out a little so we get into Robe around 4:00pm. https://goo.gl/maps/ig7XJQpYVM52

Arrived, unloaded the bike and went to change into clothes I could walk down the street in to find I left my shoes at home.  I bought some news ones.  They weren't cheap.  Met JD and Chippy at the Chinese restaurant and JB and Dougsue at the bakery.  I went back to the Chinese restaurant for lunch.  Good food, crap beer.

It's a gorgeous day.  My only other Robe visit was gloomy.

Heather and I got back home at about 6:40pm after leaving Robe about 8am.

1,142 km for the weekend over 14 hours riding time.

Thanking everyone who attended - not sure how many turned up but I counted at 18 people sitting at the table last night.

Join the club - for the last year my teeth have been doing their best to leave.

Cracked a molar a few weeks ago and on Friday night it started giving pain so on to the paracetamol and generic Nurofen which takes away most of the pain.

On the ride down yesterday I chipped a piece off of the last rear tooth on my lower gum. Not bad in itself but the sharp edge interferes with the tongue. Keeps me quiet I guess but annoying

Dentist on Thursday for that.

A really good catch up, thanks everyone. On the Sunday I rode to Tyrendarra with a mate on a new Sport Glide - Harley are finally getting their act together. The Harley consistently gave better fuel consumption, despite being 1745cc (or thereabouts), by about 1.5 to 2.0l/300km - the Honda was more economical (financially) however because 91 could be used rather than 98 (there is very little 95 in country areas, 95 being the recommended minimum for the Harley).
About 10am on Sunday a kangaroo wanted to get a bit close and personal - more good luck than good management resulted in a near miss. The rest of the ride was uneventful (excepting the old dear who decided to go through the roundabout from my left at Naracoorte as I was turning right - close, but no cigar).
Temps ranged from 15 to 33. I was very glad I had the cut down screen on when it was 33.

I too had a near miss with a kangaroo on sunday morning.  I  should have video footage of it when I get around to watching it.
