HOW IT WORKS:

- Follow the link below to open the OzSTOC Ride Calendar and Map;
- Zoom in to a region, and click on an icon;
- A window opens up with a brief explanation of the ride, its location, and date;
- You can also reference rides from the list of the left hand side.

Enjoy.

There are huge gaps in the top half, Saaz.

Great feature.

Is it possible to add the routes for any day rides that are being/have been organised and index them to the event?

 :wink1   As long as I work for a living and volunteer for OzSTOC, there are bound to be delays, points missed, and questions unanswered.    :rofl

In saying that - thanks for the input - I think this will evolve to be a fantastic resource, and even sought after from other forums.

@Whizz- thanks mate - I'll need input from Members so that I can update and keep current the map. I sometimes miss RTE posts and this is why it wouldn't appear, so a nudge is good.

@Shaun - mate, I experimented with trying to link the forum notification of an event to the 'pin' on the Map, Didn't work - but I have a cunning plan.... so stay tuned. But this will have to do (the link to the forum info, as drawing routes would take 22.67345% of my day, and that is time I cannot give at this moment.  There is normally a google maps link in the forum info though, so I will test.

Keep suggestions coming as we will end up with the bestest resource ever!

Cheers, Diesel

Cool.

I wasn't even suggesting that it was you that did it. I was more thinking along the lines of people submitting .kml files of the routes they have for their RTE's etc and you import them to the map. I think there might be such a feature, but I haven't explored it fully.

Most excellent work young Prince! :thumbsup

*edit Perhaps there should be a group called Maps and have the member map there as well?

Thanks Diesel, a most useful resource and good use of resources.

Cheers, :hatwave

Just thinking out aloud here...I wonder if members could have their own map associated with their profile that they can fill in all the rides they've done, as a way to keep track and to show off as it were :D

Hey Diesel, don't pass up that offer.  He might know something about computers and he wants to share the work-load and he appears to have too much spare time!     :beer

OK - as far as I can make out, you have the option of linking to a URL in your profile...

You could use this to link to your personal map - but you would ALL need to have a Google account/log in.

Feel free to kick off, and we'll see what happens from there. The Middleton Ride is a great starting point.

Cheers, Diesel
