Title: forkoil
Post by: creeture3 on August 19, 2017, 10:11:57 AM
Hi, need some help here. I am changing to fork oil on a 1999 ST, abs/cbs/tcs etc. In the book, for the right leg, it says 530 cc of fork oil, or a level of 140mm with spring removed and slider collapsed.

O.k., I put in 500 cc and the oil level is at the TOP of the slider. What is going on here ???

I have done all the right stuff, removed the spring, collapsed the slider, but I haven't removed the damper rod, because you can't put oil in without the bolt in the bottom ??

Should I go by the measurement ???

Help needed.................

Forget about all I have asked. I must have had too much to drink last night.

You gotta extend the fork tube to measure .

Yeah, I knew that................
