- Nigel - if you're early, you call in for a coffee at your girlfriend's bakery over the road.

Unfortunately as Sue & I are off to Adelaide again next month it's very unlikely we'll be fronting up for this RTE.
Hopefully we'll make it to the following one though... :X
*Edit: Hmm, just realised November's RTE is supposed to be to Naracoorte, South Oz so I'm thinkin' that one's out too... :fp

Some of us was chatting re. having an alternative to the Naracoorte RTE, as some others and I (sans JD and Vera) weren't looking forward to another ride 450 to 500km ride (each way) without an overnighter, or two, or three.
Stand by for an alternative, was thinking of Alexandra VIC, the Corner Hotel looks good, have eaten there a coupla times previously. Save the date (Sat 12 Nov) and location, I'll confirm in a thread when I receive confirmation from the pub.
-
But the Naracoorte RTE is an overnighter the last time I looked.
-
Please add me to the list.

Yes, and these days (for some of us), a night each way.
-
Fair call. I rode from home to Streaky Bay yesterday, a bit over 700km - small bickies for some but I'm glad I'm not riding back today.

Even the 500km Mannum to Ararat was enough for me on the return from the NatRally. Probably could've made the extra 225km to home, but decided not to, the Kilkenny lager on tap at the Courthouse Hotel made the stay worthwhile.
-
Change of venue is a bit too far for me, as I have a medical appointment early Monday morning.
Naracoorte is also out. Its not that far, but if it was for lunch I could have made it.
Oh well, will see what else is available at a later date. :thumb

Only an extra 30 or 40 km Kev.
Next VIC RTE is the Naracoorte Alternative planned for Saturday 12 November at the Corner Hotel, Alexandra (subject to confirmation).
And after that, Saturday 10 December at the Caledonian Hotel, Murchison (subject to confirmation).
-
Only 293km each way, Kev, should be a walk in the park for you... :thumb

Unfortunately as Sue & I are off to Adelaide again next month it's very unlikely we'll be fronting up for this RTE.
I had a discussion with Sue last night and she said if I wanted to go on my own to the rte, she didn't mind. :runyay
But..today the penny dropped... :||||
Thanks to our wonderful Prime Mincer and his declared public holiday for the 22nd of September, my scheduled eye op has been pushed back to the 18th of next month so I'm guessing it's now highly unlikely that I'll be going... :fp
-
I have to pass on this one. The extra 40 km means I would have to leave immediaely after eating lunch to get home before sunset, and I do not like riding after dark. Also meas I may possibly sleep in in the morning and miss my medical appointment. I prefer Saturday RTE's
-
Don't forget we'll be in Daylight Savings Time next month, Kev...so if you left at your usual time of around 3pm and with dusk a bit after 8pm I reckon you'd be home well before dark... :popcorn
-
I don't trust myself to ride into the sun in late afternoon, so still not a good idea.
-
Fair enough, mate... :thumbsup
But, in saying that it's sure to be raining that day... :grin :rofl

Hi Team,
Neil & Valerie will not be able to attend the Ballan RTE on the 23rd of October, we will be in Sydney for our grand daughters birthday.
The 12th November to either Naracoorte SA or Alexandra Vic, will be out for us too, we have a wedding here in beautiful Castlemaine.
Hopefully we can make the December ride, have a great time without us !!
Cheers

If not too late, I'll try to make it too... myself plus 1.
Confirming, was it for lunch... or did I read something about overnight?
Cheers

Will not be attending. Recent weather events around here has left me with a list of jobs that need to be attended to.
All have a good rte and catch up on the next one.

Nah, current forecast for Ballan is for good riding weather (even Helen said so, dunno 'bout Jane though), see youse all there arund 12:30pm.
-
Being the ultimate optimist, I`ll brave the elements, and be on my bike. After all, I cleaned the screen the other day from the Mannum trip, so I`d better ride it.
Looks like the weather has fizzed out, again. Just Melbourne hey?

Leaving St Helena at 10:30am, taking the easy route, could do with the company.
