I muST say a big THANK YOU to Abe.
yeSTerday Wednesday when I took single's aka Ian, cb radio over to Abe to check out,I discovered the mount for my topbox had fractured after the bumpy shaky Bylong Valley Way.

Abe got me to take it off STranger and leave it with him so off with the topbox and mount.
today Thursday I received a call from Abe asking I bring STranger over for a fitting... when I got there Abe gave me this  (http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/Johnny_Whitehead/20000107_113351_zpsjanu6wfe.jpg) (http://s774.photobucket.com/user/Johnny_Whitehead/media/20000107_113351_zpsjanu6wfe.jpg.html)
that he had made today.. WOW talk about faST I wasnt expecting Abe to have completed a brand new mounting plate especially with the detail he went to acheive this, he meticulously measured the two mushroom locating poSTs and welded them onto the new plate and re-used the lock catch after cutting it out of the old and perfectly locating it on the new mount. An excellent STronger NEW mount.
when I got home I took it back off and set up a little spray booth
(http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/Johnny_Whitehead/20000107_124154_zpsoshuzmdh.jpg) (http://s774.photobucket.com/user/Johnny_Whitehead/media/20000107_124154_zpsoshuzmdh.jpg.html)
and gave it a few coats Hammer finish to match STranger's police pod  and fitted it back on
(http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/Johnny_Whitehead/20000107_130335_zpshw1czl5b.jpg) (http://s774.photobucket.com/user/Johnny_Whitehead/media/20000107_130335_zpshw1czl5b.jpg.html)
I dont think I will have to worry ever again about breaking this mount, its better than the original and looks great all painted up. I even painted the riser poSTs to match. I did paint the 4 allen key boltheads also..

Nice work Abe. :thumb   Clearly a metal man after my own heart, but that's the 9kg load limit on the top box used up already.   :grin

Very pretty job there Abe and Johnny, good team work.

Haven't had any problems with bulls, but a roo bar might come in handy.

Top welding Abe!  I can draw a nice line of bird droppings along a seam, so I know a good weld when I see it.   ++

Half a job there Johnny, you didn't paint the bolt heads  :well

Off to the shops this arvo to buy a new BBQ plate  :rofl

I was going to lighten the plate up with some holes, BUT, I've seen Johnny ride  :crackup

Your welcome Johnny, just hope that you get to travel that road less traveled   :thumbs.
