As registrations for Mudgee are closed, and as I didn't want too much Mansfield talk to distract people from Mudgee, I now present a comprehensive update on Mansfield 2024.

Garry (ppopeye) and I visited Mansfield last week, chatted to the High Country Holiday Park Manager (Jude - a very nice lady), and can confirm the following:
   •   All cabins and some caravan sites are on-hold (some sites released already for the public) for OzSTOC until Thursday 12 October, 2023.
   •   Only one Deluxe Studio Cabin (with under cover parking) unit left.
   •   There are still 14 cabins of various standard (standard, deluxe, old, new), and a 3 bedroom / 6 bed cottage still available.
   •   There 30 powered sites and 5 unpowered sites at the park.
   •   We have use of the Camp Kitchen for the Friday meet & greet, not exclusive as it may need to be shared with other Holiday Park guests.

This all means that we have more than the basics of very good site to use a the base for the NatRally.

If you want to secure yourselves a cabin or a camping site you have 3 weeks left to book, after Thursday 12 October, the HCHP will be taking bookings from the general public.

When booking, book direct to receive the OzSTOC discount you must mention OzSTOC, the discount does not apply if you book through Booking.com or Last Minute Deals, etc...

Saturday Evening Dinner - a venue has been booked, we have a private dining room (holds 60 plus), a normal pub à la carte menu, as well as the senior's menu - that should suit many of us.

Again, more than the basics.

So come on all, now that it clear between now and March 2024, it's time for more to make a commitment - although as indicated in the previous post, if you have a change of circumstances, HCHP will provide a full refund if you cancel more that 7 days prior to your booking - can't get much better than that, perhaps that's something a certain Big4 that could learn.

Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

Only 14 more sleeps....
.... for you secure a cabin or camping site at the High Country Holiday Park or risk not getting a cabin or sites as remaining (to date) cabins or site have been booked by the general public.

Yeah, we're well and truly half-way there.

Whilst cabins and sites at the HCHP are now open to the general public, with Phil's & Pete's recent booking, cabins are still available, so get in early.

And remember the very generous cancellation policy, full refund available for cancellations made more than 48 hours before your stay - so folks, let's book, if plans change, cancel early and receive a refund.

Today's Update

I stopped at Mansfield today on the way home from Mudgee.  As of 1:00pm, this is what is still available in terms of cabins:
  • 2 x Deluxe studio cabins - these are the ones with undercover parking adjacent to the entrance door.
  • 1 x Ensuite cabin
  • 1 x Spa unit - some of these have two bedrooms and undercover parking, you will need to check when booking.
  • 1 x Deluxe three bedroom cabin - this has a 1 x double, 1 x bunks, 1 x twin beds.
  • 1 x 3 bedroom house - this has two bathrooms, suitable (Jude, the manager said) for three couples.

Also, please remember:
  • When booking, mention OzSTOC for your 10% discount.
  • Full refund if cancellation is more than 48 hours prior to your booking.
  • Probably best to book through Jude, she is really well on top of everything.
  • Rates for the above cabins vary (d'oh!), Jude will be able to explain, cabin details and rates.
There are also plenty of powered and unpowered sites available.
Cheers,  Williamson (AKA Michael)

After reviewing all options Theresa and I will miss Mansfield. HCHP were kind enough to put a cabin on hold over the last few days but this morning I rang and cancelled.

It would have been a good effort to alter you NZ plans and squeeze Mansfield 2024 into your itinerary.  Thanks for trying, butc'est la vie , see you in 2025, wherever that might be.

Update

Yesterday's update on cabin availability took into account Glen's tentative booking, so this would now mean that the following are still available:
  • 3 x Deluxe studio cabins - these are the ones with undercover parking adjacent to the entrance door.
  • 1 x Ensuite cabin
  • 1 x Spa unit - some of these have two bedrooms and undercover parking, you will need to check when booking.

I thought that would be the case Leo, and worked very hard with HCHP management on this matter - well, just read their conditions.  It's a pity some Big4 aren't as flexible, but best I'll end it at that, aye!

For those not wishing to stay at the HCHP, there are plenty of other accommodation options in and around Mansfield.  Although there are far too many to list, here's a recommendation from a member of the BIKER Friendly Pubs & Accommodation Australia Facebook group.

(You will probably need to join the group to see the post in full.)

Walking distance to the HCHP and our dinner pub venue, as well as two other pubs and a local craft brewery.

I've rearranged my ride plans to fit in the Ironbutt Muster in Echuca and the OzSTOC Rally.  It means Mrs Biggles can't attend, and I can't get to Mansfield until Saturday afternoon.  I have a cabin booked for Friday and Saturday nights.  Before I cancel the Friday night, does anyone want to take over the booking and let me just have a bed on Saturday night?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Good organising skills Bill.  Sounds like you'll have at least 1600km under your belt by the time you get to Mansfield.

Only 116 more sleeps until the NatRally, 117 for Bill.
