Had a set of Dunlop Roadsmart 3s fitted yesterday by Peter Stevens Ringwood. $460.00 fitted for the pair, also had the valve replaced. Old tyres were down to the thread wear indicators 🤓
-
Now that's very thorough :think1 Pulling your exhaust off to change tyres :grin
-
Did an oil change and a good clean while the wheels were off🤓
-
:like Even took the roof rack rails off as well I see ;-* :grin
-
Put those in place to prevent anyone stepping on the rear brake. Also in the process of putting rooftop tent on the wagon🤓
-
Nice work mate :thumbsup
-
You in trouble with Chippy for putting them on the furniture? :OldMan :spank

Can’t allow new tyres to get dirty :eek
-
jD how did you end up getting them from Peter Stevens?
You should have called in. We are not far from there.
-
They quoted the best price for the Roadsmarts, had them fitted while attending a job at Lilydale🤓
-
Did you consider other tyres. Eg Michelin
-
Did look at the PR5s but they were a bit dearer. The Roadsmart 3s are the latest from Dunlop designed for touring. Most of my rides on the ST are long distance with pillion and fully laden so the dual compound ( harder centre) roadsmart tyres should address the issue with squareing..hopefully 🤓

Roadsmart 3 rear just removed from my 1100 and replaced with same for the Glendambo FarRide. Ordered mine online from Peter Stevens for $259.95 delivered from Melbourne and not their Adelaide shop.
Estimated 13,000 km of wear as the speedo drive cable failed while this tyre was on. Don't think you'll ever get rid of the tyre squaring off

Thats all interesting.
I actually thought pretty much all road tyres these days had dual compound.
Mine need a close inspection soon.

Cleanest looking exhaust I have ever seen:-)

I’m wondering how the Dunlop Roadsmart 3 tyres are going. Have you formed an opinion as to wear and handling?
Thanks,
LindsayGT
-
I have only done just over a 1000 kms on them so far so can’t comment on wear but I’m very happy with the handling in comparison to the Bridgestone Battlax that were fitted previously :like
-
Dunlop Roadsmarts after 16500 kms approx. Very happy with their wear and performance, could probably get another 4000ks but badly squared off from the ride west as well as being heavily loaded. No Roadsmarts available till December so opted for Bridgestone T31GT for Tassie trip .
-
I will see how the T31GT I have on our 1300 compares to yours.
The rear has been on just over a week with the front one being ordered tomorrow.
-
I did try for the Michelin PR5’s but they weren’t available as a set....Bridgestone T31 GT👇

Jonathon, I would have thought getting best part of 17k ,2 up,was a pretty good effort. Followed your trip notes and were nothing short of great reading. Anyways, back to the point. I used Scotty`s in Ringwood for my last rear PR4. $270 fitted. Thought that was alright. Put in my rear pads for $20 at the same time. In Olive Gve. Done a bit of work for me and found to be very good and professional. Hi Chippy................. :eek
