Where do you get well priced tyres online in Oz?.
I got a quote from the local tyre place of $325 for PR4 rear or $290 for Roadsmart3 rear.
When I look online I can only get them about $40-50 cheaper but then I have to pay freight which cuts into half of that and I still have to fit them :well

Give the Cudlins a call in Taree (or is that where you tried?) You might need to ring a few in Newcastle and go for a ride on Saturday. It should be possible to put a pair of PR4s on for under $500 including fitting.

I bought my last Roadsmart 3 rear from Peter Stevens https://www.peterstevens.com.au/dunlop-roadsmart-3-sport-touring-tyres.html (https://www.peterstevens.com.au/dunlop-roadsmart-3-sport-touring-tyres.html)
Cost includes shipping. Looking at $270 for an 1100 and $280 for a 1300 rear.

That's what I mean, the online suppliers are almost the same price as getting it fitted locally.
I tried Fineline Biggles, and they were 10% dearer.
Oh well,
Thought I might have been looking in the wrong places, but seems we have a very keen tyre fitter/supplier right here at home :).

In a couple of other groups www.motorcycletyrewarehouse.com.au (http://www.motorcycletyrewarehouse.com.au) gets a good trade..often free delivery and deals on pairs

I just had a set of Mitchy PR4's fitted at my local Honda STealer for $515 fitted and balanced. Sometimes it pays to check locally as well.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to place an order with the local tyre place, so should get a new PR4 later this week.

Always good to support the local boys

After getting the tyre replaced, as I was about to reinstall the wheel to the bike I noticed that the Spline carrier bearings were falling apart. I could see the balls inside the bearing and the inner bearing race was twisted.
Ordered new 6905 bearings from Blue City bikes and it was a pretty straight forward job to replace them.

Always an interesting topic. I also put on a new rear PR4 for the ride to Mackay. Cost $270 fitted, by Scotties in Ringwood Mexico. Amazing the difference in prices............. :wht11
