Clutch Fluid Replacement
« on: August 06, 2017, 11:43:46 AM »
I just did the clutch fluid change by following some AWESOME instructions from ST-Owners.com :runyay
(I was going to do my own "How To" but this one covers everything brilliantly :clap :clap :clap)

LINK:

As I don't have the vac gizmo that is talked about in the instructions I used a great little product that cost a LOT less (AUD$35.95) and works great :thumbsup
(It is also useful for doing the Brake Fluid Change :thumb)

Motion Pro Hydraulic Brake Bleeder

This is a one way valve that stops fluid from sucking back up into the system and keeps sucking in the direction of the arrow.
When the pipe is disconnected from the bike any fluid still in the pipe between the bike and the valve is sucked through :thumbsup

Another advantage of the Motion Pro is that it allows the job to be completed by one person easily :grin

Anyway the only other thing I brought for this was 1ltr of Dot4 Brake Fluid as I was doing the break fluid change as well.
As a note, I used less than half the fluid :|||| so for anyone doing this 500ml will be enough to do both jobs :thumbs

The ST-Owners.com instructions have great pictures with what to do for each step written in each picture :thumbsup (they are easy to follow :-++)
Example:

All up I spent less then $50 to do the Clutch and Brake fluid change and found it to be a surprisingly easy job to do :grin

I found that this was an EXTREMELY EASY job to do, so give it a go guys :thumbsup

Just heed this warning!

It doesn't drain fast just keep an eye on it :thumb

Cheers

Pricey little tool that.

I paid about $12 for this one. Clutch and front brakes gravity bled quite easily.

I was thinking the same. I too have one of these. So simple.
