Spotted this town today. The owner using a push bike helmet as well. Originally I thought it was a little 50cc scooter but after a closer look I saw the e-bike label and pedals.

A proper mo-ped in the true sense of the word.

I could have put this in the humour section as the poor owner was trying to get out of the way as I pulled into the car parking space. At least he parked it rear to kerb unlike some around here who park like a car.

It looks like the luxury version of the old mopeds that you mainly see in m/c museums- pushbikes with a tiny assist motor on them.  They make good sense in that you get help going up hills but you can still keep fit pedalling on the flat.  They would run a long way on a little bit of juice.  I think it's a great idea, especially around town, but you wouldn't be doing a lot of shopping wit that little top box.

As much as I like some green related stuff I'm afraid this one doesn't quite do it for me.

Do they come with a paper bag that you put over your head, so that nobody will recognize you if you are riding it?

I'm afraid that it doesn't do it for me either, and if it's really cheap transport you want, get a 50cc scooter.   Chris has done 20,000km on hers, and she fills the tank with the small change in her purse.
