I carry this kit, and used an old tyre to have a practice before needing to use it in anger.  It's pretty easy and does a very neat job.

Bodø:
My kit is similar and got to use it in North Bourke (nsw) last year.  Worked a treat and I rode another 6000k's before having a second flat in Curdievale (vic) which unfortunately couldn't be repaired.
