New fuel pump arrived today but pressure problems
« on: September 16, 2020, 07:12:16 PM »
My replacement intank fuel pump arrived today after about 8 weeks from China. It is advertised as a low pressure intank pump for ST1100 but to me still has too much pressure. I have read lots of posts about how the pressure regulator on the original pump works and how to modify it to suite a new aftermarket pump but i dont have the old pump any more to use its parts to make this modification. Am I reading into this pressure issue too much or do I need to address it.? The pressure regulator in the old pump looked to me basically like another outlet so when the main one pressurised up it would just divert back into the tank? Would a small hole drilled in the pipe between the pump and where the hose leaves the inside of the tank do the same thing?
