Esk Bakery ride for Brisbane Southside riders
« on: June 07, 2012, 06:50:25 AM »
For those Ozstoc members living on the southside of Brisbane that are interested in a group ride to Esk for the RTE on the 23rd of this month. There will be a group of Ozstoc members meeting up at Canungra in the morning and riding to Esk via Beaudesert, Boonah, Amberly and Rosewood.

We are meeting up at The Outpost bikers cafe in Canungra for a coffee between 8am and 8:30am for a 9am departure. The ride to Esk will take around two and half hours, so we will have time for a rest stop along the way (bring a snack and a drink if you wish).

Here's the planned route.

Barry, what time would you estimate being at the Cunningham Highway turn-off to Amberly? I live close by and would like to join up with you and your co-riders at that point. Let me know a time and I'll be there with my mate on his VT-400 in tow.

Cheers

 Hi Whizz.
Mate I'm thinking we'll be there around 11am perhaps a bit before that. If you can text me your mobile number to 0438 641 543 I can give you a call when we are getting close and let you know (Perhaps about 30 minutes before we get there)

Cheers

Will do, shortly.
Do you know the roads around Amberely? I ask because that is actually where I work. When you make the turn off the Cunningham onto the Ipswich Rosewood Road, instead of turning immediately right into Southern Amberley Road, continue straight on and it takes you straight to the Haigslea Amberley Road turn off. Going round the other way the road is rough and it takes you through the living area for the base personnel. On the left, just after the Cunningham Highway turn off, there is an area where my mate and I will await your arrival.

Cheers mate, look forward to meeting up with you guys.

Hi Whizz,
No worries. The road you suggest sounds a better route to take. Got your number too, so thanks for that. Have put it in my contacts ready. I will conform more details with you closer to the day.

Cheers

Change of plans Whizz,
The folks that were going to meet us at Canungra are now coming up to our place on Friday night. We will now head straight to Esk via the Ipswich Motorway and Brisbane Valley way rather than the route first planned.

See you all at Esk!

No worries, do you want to meet up at Blacksoil? Maybe at the BP Servo, which is the second servo on the left as you go into Blacksoil? and if so about the same time...11:00 ish?
Cheers,
Paul

Not sure yet Whizz? We may still decide to go via MT Glorious yet. Once I have spoken to the other riders coming I'll let you know.

Will do mate. All depends on the weather on the day. If its fine, we'll go via MT Glorious. If its a bit iffy we'll run out through Blacksoil.
