Extending the over mirror Police Light Brackets - ST13

Tired of the windscreen 'kissing' the back of the HID canons I have mounted over the mirror, I decided to go see my engineer and have them extended to clear the screen during its movement. I figured a 40mm extension was good enough - turned out to be perfect.
He did a great job - now to sand them and paint....
So far, so good. Picking up some satin black on the way home tonight to finish them off.

You've been quiet for a while. Was wondering what farkling you were up to.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine.

Ok, I have tidied up this thread, since I started the off topic bit
Having just tried to fit the brackets to Lionel's ST13 I can why this modification should be done before fitting the brackets, unless you want to cut the screen up. Well done young man

You didn't consider powdercoating for a tougher finish?

Mate to be honest - didn't even think of it.
@Saaz - yep - if I was running thinner halogens or LEDS - no probs - but the added built-in ballasts make this a hefty unit to negotiate the windscreen.
Cheers, Diesel

I just modified my screen to clear the screen. I removed about 15mm on each side of the widest part. Now it measures 610mm wide, which clears the HID canons.
Terry might like Ebay, I prefer my Dremel.

I have since changed back to thinner bodied LED spotties, and these work perfectly too (mechanically speaking)
