Streak,
I get the idea that, from the wording of the initial ad, this is more of a "meet to eat" rather than a "Ride to Eat" is this correct? I say this because of the comment about "OzSTOC Events are not group rides, so you can come straight to Esk, or you can meet up with other members and take the windy way, it is completely up to you".

If this is the case then I will be swinging past the Yamanto shopping center car park about 07:30 on the Saturday morning if anyone wants to do the run up from there through Amberley, Laidley, Gatton, across the Warrego Highway then up to Esk. Not too much of a run, but a little bit of a trip.

I realise that this is ground we've covered before but at last it's a run out.

If anyone is interested then please let me know.  :hatwave :hatwave
Cheers,
Paul

We always ride to eat  :thumb just had a few people comment to me they can make the destination to events, and feel they can't come because they can't come with the group, just making it clear that no matter how you come, your always welcome  :thumb

Does that make sense?

Mate, it makes sense to me, I always thought that was the case, and that if I couldn't get to do the whole ride that I could join in somewhere along the way, even if that was at the destination. My offer still stands if anyone wants to join me on the back roads to Esk.  :grin :grin

I'm going to be daring and propose a start point for those on the southside of brissie.
7am (leaving by 7.15) at the Coles Express servo on Beaudesert Rd, just south of Honeysuckle Way.
I intend to go via Logan M/way, Centenary M/way, Western F/way, Route 5 from Toowong to Bardon, then Waterworks Rd thru The Gap, over Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, probably stop for a quick drink, then down the other side, out to Somerset and turn left to Esk.  My number is 0419 669 619 if you want to contact me quicker then this.

And can anyone tell me why I can't get an emoticon to go in my messages!!!
It's more fun with another person.

I feel in the mood for a bit of a ride, so I might just come along to Esk for a coffee.   I had the best raisin bread ever at the Esk Bakery in 2009, and really should see if it's still OK.

I'll probably ride Adelaide to Hay (Wed),  Hay to Coonabarabran (Thurs) and  Coonabarabran to Toowoomba (Fri).   Is there a good Caravan Park at Toowoomba for a couple of nights?

If the weather is too hot, I might give it a miss.   We've had a 45 in Adelaide today, and I have no desire to travel in such hot conditions.

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
