I just heard from an ST1300 rider who'd like to come on Saturday.  Gave him the details, so hopefully he can find his way there.

"Forecast "mainly fine, possible shower', singular. I just read it."
And you believed them, Skip!!

"EHH, who cares if it's raining on NOT, man or wimp, "get on ya bike""
WIMP when it comes to going out for a fun ride!  I'll ride home in the rain, of course, but I find rain tends to dampen the spirits that are meant to soar.    8)

Can one buy a coffee in Grantham?  If so, that's another way we can boost the local economy.
Besides, it will definitely be "coffee-o'clock" by the time we get there.    :eat

I just called the Marnell Fuel Station in Grantham to make sure that they (a) are open Saturday and (b) have sufficient fuel (both ULP and premium (and even some Diesel for those who might want it :thumbs)). The answers are; They are open until 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, although they are happy to open up for us if we should be arriving later, and they have all three types of fuel available.  They are happy that we are coming out and seem very grateful for the concept of the RTE with a stop with them to refuel.

So we are good to go!!

Biggles.  :-((( You're not paying attention !!!  It was always going to be coffee at Grantham. The convenient store was washed away but they are operating from a demountable. Seating will be at a premium so a good time to mingle. I suggest when we arrive, some of us grab fuel straight away and others grab a coffee so we're not all waiting in a long queue. They are next door to each other. It will be good to see a good roll up as I know the Take Away and the servo will really appreciate the support.
See you all Saturday. The forecast looks great. Showers clearing tomorrow.
Cheers.

I TAKE THAT TO INDICATE
the convenience store was washed away in the flood
so they replaced it with a convenient store this time around
probably future proof their convenient store in case there is another flood some day

Just incase some 'skipped' to the last posts and haven't read the entire manuscript, BIGGLES, we will be doing lunch at Murphy's Creek pub. They only offer a 'light lunch' menu, burgers and the like, but I'm sure no-one will starve.
Once again, thanks for the support guys.

Good questions to put to the store owners. When I started with this idea and spoke to Sandi, they weren't sure if they could survive. The township was devastated as you'll see on Saturday. Many people will never return which may threaten the very existence of Grantham although they are trying to basically relocate the town to higher ground.

Lighten up, Skip.  He was pulling your leg about your typo "convenient" store.
And as for giving me  :spank  for not paying attention- I was asking about cawfee for those who hadn't been reading the whole saga as it unfolded.   :p

It's OK, we're getting over it.   :)

But watch out if you don't get the weather right on Saturday.  Your ride, your responsibility!   8)
