The first (organized) outing for the year. Good oh!

I'd be silly to miss it.

I'll be there (maybe a little late, but)!

Roster out Midnight Saturday morning till 8.00 so can make it to Esk for the RTE  :hatwave

RuSTyEB
If I can finish early I may make the 8.00 departure from Subway Highfields, but don't wait for me just in case
But keep an eye out in your rear view mirror for a Black ST1300 as I should not be far behind you  :grin

See you all at Esk  :eat

If my roster doesn't change I would like to attend and tag along with the Toowoomba riders leaving from Highfields I believe.  Have just had some major work done to the st1300 to try and improve the fuel economy including injector service and a few other things so need to get it out on the road to give her a go. :rd13

I'm planning on a southerly route from my place heading off about 7:00 am.

https://maps.google.com.au/maps?saddr=Kallangur+QLD&daddr=156+Ipswich+St,+Esk+QLD+4312&sll=-27.413726099999995,152.88804690000003&sspn=0.23896752510015426,0.5495903128549036&t=m&dirflg=d&z=9&geocode=FTMtYP4dYHUeCSmTsyJcI_uTazEAjd7zWqMCBQ%3BFRZgYP4dP78VCSkpyf8abiCUazFtwjtuyWX8nA

A tad boring.  I hope you'll go home by the Somerset twisties.    :grin

BTW, the Google Maps reference is the same.  Just a tad shorter.

This is even nicer:  http://tinyurl.com/Esk-trip

Yes, I'm planning on coming back via Mt Glorious with a stop at the Maiala Teahouse and Restaurant (back in the owners hands) .

I've never been down Moggil Road or Mt Crosby, so I thought an early Saturday morning roll through there might be interesting.  8)
Cheers,
Gary

Dinmore Pads - Is that the parking area on the left just after the exit to Toowoomba?
If so I can meet at 08:00 there.

Took my "boring"  :nahnah  ride down through Becketts Road, Southpine Road, onto the Centenary Hwy and then Moggil Rd to Mt Crosby Road and out onto the Warrego.

I thought I'd be clever and plan a route on the GPS on the phone before I left.  I made the mistake of picking a spot on Becketts Rd via the Map, not knowing it was on the bound side.  The GPS wasn't happy I missed a "Stop-over" and for the rest of the way there (even after I passed through another "stop-over" it kept telling me to "do a u-turn ", "turn left and then turn left" or "turn right and then turn right" all the way to Esk Bakery.

Once there I had a beautiful Coffee and Pie and excellent Company meeting new faces and catching up with some familiar faces.

A good chin-wag was had and some great ideas discussed (thanks TJ and Biggles [Lake Macquarie is 812 km from Brisbane via the Pacific and 826 km via the New England]) as well as some good jokes and laughs.

After a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours I headed towards Home with Diesel via Mt Glorious with a planned stop for a Cuppa at Mailala Tea House and Restaurant.  After a thoroughly enjoyable lunch and coffee with Diesel we continued towards home via Samford and Winns Road back towards Strathpine.  Near Southpine dam we parted company and I wandered home via Young's Crossing and Kurwongbah.

Another Great day.
Cheers,
Gary

Aren't GPSes annoying the way they insist you run over the mark or else!
I believe some have a setting that allows a bit of leeway.  For an "intelligent" device, they sure are dumb.
I've encountered some that would let you do a GoTo from present position to the next waypoint.
