It's getting to that time of year when Gadget, STimpy and myself start putting together the list of RTE destinations for next year :runyay

So please keep suggestions for RTE locations coming :eat You can even mention locations that you would like to revisit :grin

We'll go over everything and have a list of 2018 RTE Locations & Dates before the end of next month :thumbsup

Hey Shiney, how about Pottsville, NSW, 1.5 hrs from Brisbane and a lovely place to go for a feed and also a lovely town.
There a good quiet coast road south of Pottsville, Tweef Coast Rd/Wooyung Rd (now bitumen) that takes you back to the old Pacific Motorway and twisties.

Not so much beach views, as hinterland vegetation on the coast then quickly into subtropical rainforest.

I used to play on it in the car at night when it was dirt.

Club Hotel Lowood has great meals and you have to do short ride from Glamorgan Vale to Lowood
The Glamorgan Vale pub is not bad
Brightview Tavern, Regency Downs
They are all not far apart

Hey Shiney, Gadget & fellow OzSTOCers… during our trip, down and back from Wooli NR2017, Kate and I were taking about how we could increase our chances of attending a southern RTE by using, say Monto (Airbnb 546km from Mky) as an overnight base, riding 250-ish kms to an RTE, then riding back to Monto for another bed for the night, then home… overnight Friday, RTE Saturday and home on Sunday – sweet.

Date for our Cunning Plan RTE (that works in with our shift-work roster)… Saturday, 19th May 2018.

Venue… we’re thinking pies, sausage rolls and other baked delights… and according to the reviews, great coffee…  at the Goomeri Bakery.

We would also like to include two more RTE’s incorporated within the Mackay NR2018….

Saturday, 11th August… The Old Station Teahouse.
Sunday, 12th August…. The Eungella Chalet.

Okay, that’s our wishlist for the moment… cheers Kate & John.

There's a decent motel in Monto, as well as other accomm.  Goomeri is just up the road from Brissie.  Actually CMA used the the Biloela Discovery Caravan Park in May this year and found it to be excellent.  Because it hosts FIFO miners, there is a comprehensive canteen there for all meals.
I'm not an AirBnB user, but there are plenty of good alternatives for the rest of us.
Anyhoo- it all looks like a sound plan.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Thanks Bill... Airbnb - for us, the fun part is finding a real gem, giving a more personal and welcoming experience than a motel room... 500-600kms a day, 2up on the STeed, is a good days ride for us and doable in the daylight, with a couple of stops... so Monto, in our case, fits the bill better than Bilo... hope to see you in Goomeri when the time comes... cheers, John & Kate.

As Biggles has pointed out below the caravan park at Biloela has some good facilities.
My experience of the first (and to date only) R.T.E there was very positive.
If it were not for my injuries and the complete lack of interest in the most recently shelved R.T.E i would have happily attended again  :grin

Fraser Coast - Maryborough - Tinana "Norma Jeans".
Here's a biker friendly diner/cafe available for anyone travelling to, or through Maryborough (Qld). There's a great cafe/diner in Tinana (south-side suburb of Maryborough). It has plenty of room for travellers to sit inside and have a great meal, drinks, or teas. There is plenty of safe parking area out the back with direct access from the main road. They also have a covered outside room in case you want to sit within view of your bike. Paul and Julianne are the very friendly owners.. Paul was a rider in the past. They have a great range of foods and very nice coffee, but also have a range of different teas for those that prefer tea. There's air-conditioning for those hot summer days. It's a very accommodating, relaxing and safe place to stop. I live just around the corner, so can help if anyone needs assistance, or tools, or directions.
This is a link to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Normaj91/?ref=br_rs

There is a very good one at Roadvale called Panorama Museum.

https://www.facebook.com/Panorama-Motorcycles-Memorabilia-191366470877715/

As I recall it's also $10.  Another possible pilgrimage, Shiney.
If you pre-arrange it they will supply coffee and scones (at least, they did last time I took the CMA there).

Hey Shiney, Gadget & fellow OzSTOCers
We didn’t have a lot interest of in our 2019 RTE suggestions, so for 2020 we’ll see what other Q'ld OzSTOCers have to suggest.
Our only RTE request is that a Goomeri Bakery RTE, if possible, be organised for Saturday, 9th May 2020, as it would work in with my shift roster.

thanks Alan... in case you missed it, we posted a number of CQ/NQ/FNQ RTEs this year... in the Qld Rides Section (with very limited success)... and once again we're putting forward a suggestion, for a Qld RTE, in the Qld RTE Ideas Section... I think we've got it covered  ;-* ... Cheers, John&Kate.

While out home hunting I came across the old servo in Cooyar which is closed as a servo now ,, but purchased by a real McCoy and turned into a bikers café eatery thingy majib. We stopped in and had coffee and a tart, lemon tart and looked at the menu, pics and memorabilia.
As a New South Welshman Im going to suggest this place for a Qld RTE.
McCoys Moto eatery, 3 Munro ST, Cooyar Qld, ph 07 4692 6107

EDIT after posting I read a few recommendations and found DavidP  has posted this place SO I second DavidP's suggestion.  ++ :Blow
