Teela and I are home Safe and Sound, 2,289km later, 5 amazing day's.

We have seen some fantastic country from Toowoomba to Port Macquarie, from North Haven to the Blue Mountains, from Blackheath to Glen Innes, loved every minute of it, and it would not have been the same without Teela on the back of my bike :) cant wait to do it again!

Ride report to follow once I have had a sleep, and get the brain back into working order!

I am back after taking a more convolued way home to the ACT.  Suffice to say that someone did the Jenolan Caves road on the way home, and some other gravel back roads.

For those who could not make it, we had a really rubbish time  :runyay :beer :eat

Pictures and stories to come in a while after I have sorted through what I have, and what lies others post up   :rofl

We had fishballs as a nibble on Friday night in honour of Brock.

just my 2c worth on  what gear to ride in. most speedos are up to 10% inaccurate ie reading 100kph actual 90/91. I allow for this when riding. ie in a 100 zone i actuatly sit on 110 by the speedo in 5th gear.  When sitting on this speed the st13 is doing 3,500 rpm. I would assume this is mr hondas sweet spot for the engine. at 90ks in 4th the engine is doing 3,500 revs and at  66/70 ks in 3rd guess what 3,500 revs.  I ride 70 odd ks per day to work a combination of all of the above speeds and I reguarly get 430to 460ks before low fuel light starts flashing showing 70 to 90ks to empty.
                                                                                Cheers Greg

I would be interested to hear from Danriveros to see if modifying his gear changing technique makes any difference to his fuel consumption as he was only getting 300kms from a tank full of 98 which is way low. Maybe his fuel gauge is faulty or something else.

Home safe in Adelaide Monday night, after a long 960km day from West Wyalong via Narrandera.   The riding was just too good to want to stop, and I was feeling great, but hav a few aches today!  What a great few days, and thanks again to Diesel, Streak and Pete for the organizing.   :thumbs

Congratulations to all concerned for staging such a successful rally!

It was great to meet a few of you at Mt Panorama and I wish I could've stayed longer for a decent chat.  Hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip home.

Cheers,

Tony

Tony, good to see you at least briefly.  Work calls I suppose, but at least you are paid to ride around.  Some time you should post up how the FJR is, as it seems like a great bike.  Too many great bikes around so just have to stay with the ST11.

Evenin' All...

Got home mid arvo having crossed the border around lunchtime into the State of gobal warming and a sunny balmy 20c, was nice to loose all the winter clobber I'd been forced to wear in NSW while having a cuppa at the 'Wang' Maccers  :runyay

Great to catch up with a couple of oldies I forgotten from the original Ozstoc, saaz and John B, Ta muchly John for the fang in the self propelled side-car...I had only been waiting a decade for that since I first spoke with you at P.I :thumb...and I most certainly will follow up with Kim T :wink1...and saaz I have already spoken with AJ (he popped over this evening for a cuppa), and we're on for a meet n greet :beer...will speak with Marcus, Daniel, Terry and the other Guys in Vic soon

Laurie and Baz, Guys ya's made my weekend letting me have the lower bunk and not have to play 'spoons' with saaz  :crackup...some brilliant riding out west Laurie...and bugger me Baz only the this evenin' I found at least another half dozen IVECO stickers...always next time :wink1

Lastly, Dave, Graham...tops effort Fellas, well done!...I reckon it's a great alternative to a Ulysses AGM :thumbsup

Ciao, the can :)

Typical Murphy's Law.....should never try and plan anything at work!  Will get around to a write up on the FJR.  Yep...too many choices regarding heavy weight tourers Saaz,  but at the end of the day I reckon you'd be surprised at how relevant the ST1100 still is......and for a lot less money!

I agree with you Tony. Of the two ST's I owned both were good bikes, though I still personally believe the ST1100 was the nicer bike to ride.
