Whereas I was wondering how long it would take for someone to nominate this location.

Hill St, Longwood Vic?🤓

https://goo.gl/maps/hRhRnpoQgkn, yep that's it, but ..........

I would long for some else to get this.

BG's reply and PM (to me) nominating Longwood preceded your reply JD, so it's back to him.

BTW, here is the unedited pic.

The inscription on the plague tell us that it's a memorial to some local lads killed in 1901 and 1902, and Googling the names revealed that this was in the Boer War.  From memory, this memorial (but it may have been one of many others on similar small town memorials), listed those that served and fell in WW1.   Too often, the same surname is listed multiple times, probably meaning one family has lost two or three or more sons.

Very sad.

I think that you're parked just in front of the Visitor Information Centre on Main Street. And that looks like it might be the Bairnsdale water tower, with the Coles Express just behind it.

Broken Hill railway station

 :think1 that's a long way from a Victorian visitor information centre  :-[

Never said it was a Victorian VIC, they're everywhere.
I knew Bodø would get it, Broken Hill it is.

My initial thought was it was Broken Hill, but I couldn't see the big rock in the background and Shillas hasn't been to New South Wales.  My attention turned to the Overlander and where it stops in the vicinity of the Halls Gap RTE, ie. Ararat, Stawell and Horsham.  I've never been to Horsham station but also thought the VIC clue was a red herring (even if I didn't know what it stood for).  That made me think it must be Keswick interstate railway station.  Then at work I was driving along and suddenly it occurred to me Shillas did in fact go to Wooli so Broken Hill was a possibility so confirmed with my own photos I took there.  Said rock could not be seen and platform and Indian Pacific train was identical.

So where is this?

Not many inland waters have jetties that long.  I'd be guessing coastal.  I suppose it could be a bridge, but still looks coastal.
