Well, I'm really looking forward to catching up with my old Snowy Ride and Ozstoc mates now at Inverell as Marissa and I will unfortunately be giving the big ride to Middleton in 2013 a miss.   :(  :(

There are some awesome routes to get there from QLD that we considered, but time and distance issues (along with availability of holidays) got the better of us in the end. So there will be an extra 4 berth cabin available for anyone that needs one from Monday.

Wont be the same without you Barry, seeing you are the OzSTOC 2012 member of the year! Who is going to keep an eye on the silly people and tell all the good stories?

NT representation will be available...Im in hopefully the weather gods will not be to hot for the first 1500k's

I'm going to have to try to make it so I don't stuff up the 100% attendance for the NT 

Just have to see if I can get rid of the kids for a week or so....

I have booked what i think might be the last cabin in the park, but i am just one and it holds four... has a double and two bunks. I'm happy with a bunk as it is just somewhere to put the head down. It is a basic (no onsuite) and pretty damn cheap if shared..

Hi Everyone,
With full sharing of the cabins, there's room for over fifty  people, and if we fill the cabins, Graeme and Jane have reserved some adjacent camping sites for us.    If all that fills, there's plenty of B&B options in the area.

I'm planning to do an SS1600 and the Centreline 36 on the way down, so that kinda minimises the travel time.  Also, rumour has it that our 130km/h speed limit may be abolished by then

       

 

By the way, I'll need a bed if there's a bunk available somewhere.... I promise not to snore TOO loudly

I will unfortunatly not be taking the ST to Middleton. :(  I am involved with the Vintage Jap club whose National Rally is on the same weekend at Victor Harbor so will be taking my ute towing my enclosed car trailer with the shiny bikes in it. I hope that Wendy can get away for a couple of weeks too and that we can attend the Saturday night dinner.    Was planning to go to the salt lake races which are usally held in March, but in Feb next year, so miss out again (last there in 08 when it was too wet). 
 How ironic that the two clubs I am involved with decided to hold thier National Rallys at the same place on the same weekend!!!

That's bad luck STeveo.  We knew the Vintage Jap Rally was on at the same time, but didn't think that it would impact too much on our gathering.   No doubt you'll keep an eye out for a "tour" of forty ST's rumbling through Victor Harbor on Saturday, and hopefully you can get to the dinner.

Well we have 36 People on the list at the moment attending in March! absolutely fantastic, can't wait to get down there and we are still 6 months away!

Anyone riding out through the Barossa Valley when they leave Middleton?

I wasn't, far too much temptation to stop (once or twice??) and sample the product, then God knows how long it would take to get home!

I hadn't considered a going home route but I did make up a scenic route that includes, Hahndorf, Woodside and and that other place......oh yeah......Birdwood. There's a few added things like the Giant Rocking Horse (Gumeracha) and the whispering wall at the Barossa Reservoir pls a loop via the three main Barossa valley towns. The route ends at Accomodation Hill look out before the run down to the plains and across to the Riverland.

Not sure if anyone wants to follow a slower 1100 with a trailer attached or not but the route can be entered into anyone's GPS. Most of these roads have 80kph for some unknown reason.

i just returned from a trip to Berri..
went up the highway then returned via Cadell (ferry), Morgan, Eudunda, Kapunda etc
great roads, 140 cruising, 160 spurts... slow down when traffic aproaching, corners etc. loved it!
no, didn't see any of these... 
the ST1100 loves 140 to 160 in top gear.. winds up beautifully
saw the double ton as a little tryout... heaps left yet  :)

will do some more work on possible side trips following the rally, now i have more time

Check that the choke is not sticking on. Otherwise could be the carb float levels or worn needlejets/jet needles.  A blocked or old air filter would not help - if it is a K&N filter make sure the foam ring is not on it.  Probably best to move this to the ST11 area, which I can do tomorrow.

Well the National Rally is just over 5 months away now, just added Vega, Vega, Turtle & Malcolm to the list that makes 39 of us venturing to South Australia!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have my trip just about planned, and am just waiting for the last couple of extras for the bike and I am good to go!

If your chasing a bed, quite a few of the cabins have spares, so post and ask if anyone has a spare bunk, and if you have a room and a spare bunk post it up!

There is plenty of camping space available as well, it will be the perfect time of year for it :)
