Anyone reading this a data recovery guru?

I have 30 Gb of fantastic footage relating to the Ballarat National Rally and the journey to and from there LOCKED on my micro SD card!      :cuss

When I got home, I was deleting an unrequired file, when the process locked up. I pressed cancel and it eventually went off the screen, however, after an OS refresh, the pooter told be there was no card inserted. I ejected it, re-inserted and am now told the card needs to be formatted - format now?       :||||

I haven't done this yet until I ask you braniacs. I am certain the info is still on there - just unaccessible.

Do you have any constructive advice, or somewhere for me to send the card to attempt a data recovery?        :phone

Here is an example.....   Data Recovery Specialist - but they want $280 if successful, FREE if not.    :eek

Took it to one shop who wanted a $45 'booking in' fee before they'd even touch it.       :-(((

Prepared to pay around $30 to have it fixed. Any ideas?

Cheers, Diesel

Dave, I suppose you have tried putting it back in the camera and connecting the camera to the PC?

Okay - I tried the Pandora thingy - but can't get far enough for it to be effective. As soon as I put the SD card in, it tells me the card needs to be formatted. It is not that I am chasing deleted files - I just get a drive with 0 Kb and a request to format the card.

Does this help?

Diesel, you want something that can look past the allocation table for raw data. Was it formatted in FAT32 or NTFS??? Can you receive 8MB email ??
