New member introduction
« on: November 25, 2011, 04:10:54 PM »
Hello everyone,
Well I guess that its time that I let you all know about me, seeing that I have already benefited by joining the forum.
Have had the pleasure of owining several different rides since I was a schoolboy and at the age of 15 years used to go to school on my first real bike it was a triumph tiger 500 with telescopic forks and a rigid rear end , when i could afford it the rear wheel was replaced with a sprung hub , and did the girlfriend love it.
That was after my baptisim of a BSA scooter, then a real old BSA 350 side valve single with a right handed gear shift leaver, Have been here in OZ for over 40 years and have now retired here in Northampton and have spent the last 10 years building a place to live in in this nice quiet out of the way place.
Now that I have some time on my hands .(the first time in my life)I dont want to get bored so Thats one of the reasons for the ST1300 exercise, and joining the Geraldton Ulysses.
My main hobbies are doing stuff and then some beer tasting.
My son Nathan who lives here also made a rule 10 years ago when he came up here to help me build this place, That if we did a job , that we had to have a beer afterwards. I can only say that from then on we have completed at least one job a day.
Well that enough for one day.
Cheers to all,
winston 66

Clad to see you found your way across from ST1300.US. Also interesting to see you still have your Royal Star, I am jealous. Remember to fine the thread that asks what state members are from, we need to catch up to QLD.

I forgot to mention , That where I am in Northampton, I am lucky in that we are camped (living) on a couple of acres , just out of the centre of town. The block is fully serviced and there is plenty of space if anyone wants to do a overnight camp. At the present time we also have a 24 ft. caravan available as a rudimentry bedroom or whatever, if anyone wants to use it.
From what I have seen on the forum you all seem to be a pretty decent bunch so if anyone is up this way or even passing through call in even if it is only for a break or cuppa.
Detaills are Lot 480 John ST. its a one way dead end . Entrance is off Forrest St.

Replacing or Programming the hiss ignition keys
« Reply #9 on: December 08, 2011, 07:16:07 PM »
Well Hi again everybody, Here is another question for you. As I am so new to these ST1300's It is a big learning curve for me.
In the service manual download that i got . Thanks to Brock. 2003 Model , I could not locate any reference to the HISS key set up and or operation.
Somewere else on the forum, I think it was the 1300 technical site I came accross a pdf down load in three parts but for some reson I could not access or download the documents even though I had previousley registered and successfully logged in, I most probably was pushing the wrong button. If there are any other, or further references, that any one knows about please let me know. I would hate to lose my key and then be stuck.
Also am I supposed to have some sort of a members number in order to post etc. If this is so . I can not find a reference on how to obtain this number?Any ideas?

G'day Winston - check out this link, apparently it's a bit of a drama, but well worth it if you ever need the spare....

http://www.allmotorcyclekeys.com/proddetail.php?prod=HONTRNSP

I think Biggles can also enlighten us all with some knowledge on this subject... Bill?

I NEVER ride the ST without the SPARE set on my person. (Although this is mainly due to this...) :

When I remove the keys from the ignition, they get right to the end and then grab a little, and I'm sure that one day I'm going to lose my hold on them and watch them fall into no man's land under the fairings somewhere.

Hasn't happened yet tho.    (Diesel madly scrambles to touch some wood!)       :o

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Diesel
