Marissa's first snow experience, and there were sure a few variations - on the ground, icicles hanging from the trees. Seems like only yesterday, as it was the first time I met Marissa.
I does seem like it was just yesterday, John. But it was nearly 4 years ago. Time seems to fly along these days.
I still recall the most memorable part of that trip for me was Marissa and I playing in that first bit of snow we found on the Snowy Mountains hwy just before the Mt Selwyn turn off.
Marissa had never seen snow before, and because I wasn't sure if we'd see any more snow on that trip we stopped and had a snow ball fight and built a pathetic excuse for a snow man with that tiny bit of snow we found on the side of the road. (We were on about day 4 of our trip that day and heading across to the coast. So we were not riding back into the NSW snow country till the last week of our trip).
The child like expressions on Marissa's face as she played about in the snow for the first time were priceless. Of course later in the final week of our trip we experienced lots of snow. We even got caught in a blizzard at the top of the Thredbo chair lift, and there was lots of snow up there.
We were talking just last night about how good that trip was and how we would love to do it again.
