After doing FarNat 09 five years ago I decided it is about time to another as the first was on my '01 GTR1000
This time on my 2011 ST1300
Five of us (Work & Riding Mates 2 registered for the FarRide) met at the Service station Taylor St Toowoomba at 11.30 in preparation and a quick chat
At 12.00 our starting time we filled up and went in to pay at 12.05 to make sure and the docket came up 12.00.15
That's no good. After a discussion about there time being out. The lady refunded me the money and charged it again this time 12.03
We headed out to Chinchilla where we said goodbye to Sam on his Yamaha V Star then headed up to Miles for fuel (for some) not the ST1300 and a coffee and bite to eat then headed up to Banana 495 km and still plenty of fuel left.
Then headed over to Biloela where we booked into Motel, had a shower and headed over to hotel across road for a feed and a few light beers as we were getting up at 4.00 to finish the FarRide
We headed off at 4.45 in the dark (Not my favourite riding but with my new Phillip headlight bulbs it was much better)
Just before Monto the Fog rolled in now we are in the dark and fog, by Eidsvold the sun was coming out but still foggy
The fog cleared by Gayndah where we topped up with fuel, then we headed over to Ban Ban Springs where we had breakfast
Then down to Goomeri where Bill on a Yamaha 1300 V Star peeled off to head back to Toowoomba for a Birthday party
Then headed over to Gympie then down to Cooroy for check in
Arriving at 11.00 with 1,015 on the speedo
Gadget(Gary) was already there. We headed for Coffee with Gary and IanB
Then came back and registered our finish. Caught up with a few familiar from GTR-AUS days
We had great lunch at the Cooroy Hotel with photo's Chatted the Diesel, saaz, Gary and Ian. Took the OzSTOC photo's
Then headed down to Nambour and stayed the night going to the RSL for dinner that night
Next morning we headed up to Mapleton then Maleny Kilcoy then over to Esk for Coffee then home
On the way up to Hampton I passed Diesel and saaz going the other way on there way back from OzSTOC handover
Arriving back in Toowoomba at 12.00 with only 1,270km un speedo. A bit poor considering I was talking to a fellow that had done 2,000km in his 24 hrs. So who know when we will do the next one
Now what is that NSW ACT Flag doing in Queensland
saaz grabbed it before we could get to it
