That looks like a great package.
-
All that fruit, those low kays and modest dollars... :'(
-
Hi Dodgy,
It’s unusual to have to replace an alternator on a bike with moderately low kms.
Did you detect any particular reason why the original was faulty?
-
Yep I totally agree, an alternator armature with 57K ohms resistance between the slip rings will do that...! :'(
I was prepping this bike to go serious touring and wanted it to be bullet proof so there was no expense spared to make sure it was right therefore a brand new genuine Honda alternator was ordered... :thumbs

Good price for that age/km. Swan thinks my 2008st is still worth about $10k with that number of km (and still feels barely worn in)

Hey Dodgy ....
Where is this located?
Was it ever regod as a double seater?
-
Hi spanner
This is located on the Central Coast of NSW but happy to bring to Sydney (North Ryde or Lane Cove) for inspection.
In NSW we can't rego as a single seater so it has always been a 2 seater in NSW.
Cheers
Rob.

I think only Qld has solo registration.
This bike will not have been converted to dual seat but, that requires modification the the seat rails.
The ST1100 is easy to convert, just needs the seat locking bar to be moved.
-
Actually Brock this bike has previously been converted to a two seater. :thumb
Yes it does require seat rail modification. :thumb
Yes I still have all the parts to convert back to a two seater with ALL Brand New Genuine Honda parts including Rider AND Pillion seats, Pegs, Latch, Catch and Cable but that would be at an increased price.
Here is a pic of how it Was... 8)

Email sent.
-
Hey Dodgy,
Did you get my email?
-
Hi Spanner
Yes I got your email and am crunching some numbers.
The GIPro is the Gear Indicator, tells you what gear you are in, saves you up shifting unnecessarily looking for sixth gear.
Helps you find neutral when approaching lights etc.
It is one of those things you don't think you need until have it, a bit like the McCruise control.
I will let you know when I have worked out a number.
The top box has just been air brushed to suit my other bike therefore is no longer available but I do have the mounting hardware and might have an older Givi box in black but I need to work out a key.
What did you have in mind about logistics?
Will be in touch.

logistics would involve me either flying down or something similar and riding home. I've got a good friend who lives on central coast region ..... so fly down , get lift with mate, pick up bike, stay with mate then do a SS1600 home to tsv.
Sweet!
no need for the top box as I do have one ... bit scratched up etc but serviceable.
Cheers heaps.
-
along the lines of things you dont think you need till you have it is the hand break I use on my ST1100. I rode a freinds bike the other month and was stopped at the lights on a slight backwards slope ..... all I wanted to do was put the the hand break on but couldnt ..... :candystwheelie :'(

Has this been sold yet. I'm working out of South Africa, but be home late September.
Cheers,
Hobs

Hi Hobs
I am still in possession of this magnificent machine.
Starting to stir some interest here and on the open market.
Thanks
Rob (Dodgy)

Dodgy, offer made via PM.

Rob
Can you let me know whether you want to accept my second offer, if not I've got another ST in mind.
Thanks
Nathan

Hi Natman
A fair price has been successfully negotiated by a member in QLD to return the Mighty White STalion to a two up machine.
Sorry for the slow responses due to it.
Good luck with your quest.
Thanks
Rob

Glad you eventually found a good home for it. Spanner is a very deserving member, having soldiered on for a long time with a venerable ST1100.
I've been watching this ST1300 for quite a while and might have pounced eventually. It has a great deal going for it, and the only thing holding me back from acquiring it as a "move onto" bike when my current Ruby 2sday expires was storage space.
