I think it has something to do with both Rugby and AFL and similar rules may apply.

In AFL they used to have an interstate matchs e.g. Victoria vs SA except that the players would play for the state that they originally played for. Not sure if this comp still runs in AFL or not as I don't follow it.

The blues should have won the first match, lucky for some the ref had his maroon glasses on.

Being a QUEENSLANDER, I don't want to rub it in too much. Guys it's going to bit a bit like the World Record Ozstoc Shirt AND bike title. It is going to be with Queensland for a long time.

I wish they had disallowed that last NSW try right out on the right wing!
That would really have put a cat among their paltry pigeons.    :rofl

However, in the interest of good sportmanship, I'd like to thank NSW for keeping on attending the State Of Origin matches, even though there's not much in it for them except the $20,000 each player gets.

Who/what is Carlton?
I grew up in Sydney in the middle of St George territory, as a kid I actually played one game of rugby league on the hallowed Kogarah oval (St George's home ground) .
Moved to Newman in 1981. In those days with limited radio and TV Saturday started at 8.00 am with the VFL, then moved onto SAFL then WAFL and finished with the local AFL.
Thank goodness this weekend we have MotoGP, The Grand Prix and the V8s

I only watch Motor Racing, nothing else is of any interest

anyway input of money removal of sportsmanship.
Take away ball add sword and shield more bums on seats

Fascinating that there has not been a single response from south of the border (between QLD and NSW)...too busy licking their wounds maybe??

All one can say is the better side won. :thumb
And if I were to try to analyse why Qld seems to win all the time, my guess would be that most of the Qld side all play together as a team normally, whereas NSW is made up of all the teams and when they aren't playing together as a team, they're trying to beat each others' brains in - it'd be hard to try to be nice to the bloke this week who speared you into the ground last week.

Saaz, mate, I was just having a dig at the Cockys for not chiming in. The result was 21 v 20, to give the Maroons the series ...again, by 2 games to 1.

And I read with a strong, sense of agreement, Peter's thoughtful response. I certainly agree that the Maroons do play together a lot which can only help them when it comes to team cohesion. And I also note the vagaries of the decisions in all three games. But it's the teams that play the matches, not the referees.

Cheers all

In my humble opinion NSW have the talent but they have been too quick to drop players after loosing a game. If they stick with the current selection it will be very close again next year. Qld have tended to stick with the squad chosen, whether win or lose. Oh that's right. We haven't had much of a need to drop squad members. ( couldn't resist )

I did actually sort of know the series was on, but usually had other things to do, like organising Ozstoc rides :) At least there it is WA vs Qld (for the moment.....)

This will probably get me smited (Smitten???) but I literally JUST got this from a friend in an email and thought I'd share it.

Little David was in his 5th grade class when the teacher asked
the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical
answers came up -- fireman, policeman, salesman, etc.

David was being uncharacteristically quiet and so the teacher
asked him about his father.

'My father's an exotic dancer in a gay bar and takes off all his clothes
in front of other men. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he'll go
out to the alley with some guy and make love with him for money.'

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set
the other children to work on some colouring, and took little David
aside to ask him, 'Is that really true about your father?'

'No,' said David, 'He plays for NSW in State of Origin, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids.'

Cheers,
Paul
