I will PM Winston66 as he is always looking for things for his teardrop trailer. I remember he had issue with tow ball and used a 4wd one that was ugly but compliant.

unfortunately most if not all of the light weight swivel hitches on evil bay aren't legal
if you check out VSB1 they don't meet the criteria for legal use
in building my new camper trailer recently I questioned all of the e bay suppliers regarding legality of the products on offer
ended up with the light box trailer "uniglide" hitch
sure its a tad heavier than the pressed metal 50mm ball hitches and you have to do a small mod on your tow bar but has excellent articulation and has all the right markings for road worthy compliance

these are legal and compliant. I have the identical part from the only manufacturer of these type.
