I'm in also, and will advise later if Sandra is coming along.

If so, we'll be doing an overnight (or more) without bike.

Marcelo and I will probably stay overnight somewhere.  I will give Emily's a ring a few days before the event, to confirm that they are open and serving meals.

Julie and I will be there and also staying overnight somewhere - unless we're locked down, locked out or locked up between now and then.

So far we have...

Shillas & perhaps Sandra (Overnight?)
Bodo
Richo
Langers & Julie (Overnight)
johng

Accomodation options include the Quorn Cravan Park that has some cabins, or the Melrose Caravan Park which also has some ensuite cabins which are clean but a bit old.   If the overnighters stay in the same place we could have a camp kitchen BBQ tea and and share even more stories.

Waiting to see the impact of the current "situation" on Sandra's work roster.

At this stage, she is working, but as things change hour by hour, who knows?

I knew it would be on the cards, but depending on circumstances I may still do my ride and eating by myself at some random rest area.

If we continue with the RTE, there could be a couple of options:

A.)   takeaway from Emily's, or whoever is open
B.)   take our own food - picnic or bbq

Would need to shift the venue to a park.

Marcelo and I will not be attending this RTE, in whatever form it may take, as we are both limiting social contact.

I'd love to go and as I'm now working from home (not isolation, change due to business continuity) for the foreseeable future, some social contact would be required by then.

However, not sure that an RTE would be considered as 'essential' travel.

I also think that by the date of the ride, we might all be in lockdown if the rate of spread doesn't contract.

The only constant that we now have is uncertainty and change.

Good call Pete. Julie and I will be the same. I don't think a forum organised ride is in the spirit of what the country is trying to achieve at the moment.
However I just might head up by myself to Pt Germein to do the Germein Gorge Road then back home, taking coffee making equipment with me. With any luck the closest I'll get to contact with another human will be tapping a card to pay for fuel. This Covid19 response is such a moving feast, that may not be possible or wise - I'll make the call on the day.

Thanks for the input.   The is RTE is cancelled due to the current pandemic and the need for social separation and isolation.   When you add to this that fact that Emiliys' is closed except for takeaway, cancellation is the right move.

Stay safe everyone, follow the guidelines, and when we come out the other side of this crisis there will be some great rides and stories to be told.

Quorn has shops.

It's hard to know what tomorrow will bring let alone in ten days.  I'm still keen to go for a ride but as you say that may not be an option by then.

Fair call.  I thought the kwaka would clock up 120'000km on this trip but it looks like it'll be on the daily commute.  Fortunately I still have a job to go to (at this stage).

Thanks go to you as well.  Take care and we'll catch up when normal transmission resumes.
