well, i joined the US St-owners.com after finding it on the internet, because i wanted some info on bleeding the brakes on the ABS system. Then Dave pm'd me and told me about the
OZSTOC so i joined and subsequently met some of the members at the Middleton rally - and here i am! I joined the US site as Freddofrog (my 1100 is green) and i figured on never meeting any of the other members, they're ni the US, right? - but have changed my user name to mikep on account of the embarrassment of telling Aussie members i have met in person that my forum name is  freddofrog!

Guys, I had a spare space in the shed in 2008 and I bought my ST on the Sunny Coast. I rode a few times with Jinxy here in Bundaberg and he was aware of the group. I watched the site for a while before I joined in September 2011 and have been a keen reader since then. I am working as a safety officer and am required at work all too often so I am not at many events but have enjoyed the few I have attended. I hope to catch up again at a ride... maybe the July weekend! :slvr13 :slvr13

After the shock of the heart-attack last September I said to Terese that I'm going to indulge myself b4 I leave this mortal coil and went on the hunt for a m/c. Sold my last bike 18 years ago (Beemer boxer 650) and 10 years ago almost bought a ST1100. Went searching for one again and Google led me to the US ST-Owners site where I joined and was PM'd by a member that an Aussie site existed. Joined up and by chance found an ad on ozSTOC giving members first shot at what looked like a fully-farkled 03 ST1300 from Qld.

Desty was the seller and as a Honda mechanic himself, had set the bike up to professional perfection. There's even a powerlet on the bike that is so well hidden that I haven't found it yet. Maybe someone can help me track it down in Ebor. So ozSTOC has been good to me from day one and I hope one day to be as much a contributor as a receiver of the "good oil".  :hatwave

While researching ST1300s online before I bought one a few months ago, I did a search for ST1300 using Bing (filtered to "only from Australia").  The tenth search item was http://www.ozmoto.net/ozstoc.html .  From there I saw the note about the new OzSTOC site and came here.

The OzSTOC homepage didn't seem to come up as a search result although there were a few results for a couple of forum items on subsequent pages.

Cheers,

Marty

Evenin' All...

I'll stand corrected but before Craig set up the Ozmoto site in the early 2000's and before the Yahoo group referred to in this thread, but OzStoc was under a different banner as such but still part of Craig's web pages. Also, the Yahoo mail group was revamped about the same time.

I recall there was a hiatus in communiction around 2000

Anyway I digress, OzStoc member #6 got me into OzStoc after the ride group he was with RDZ with a group I was in helped me pick my bike up after moi and my Wife fell off it while stationary at Balliang East in May 1998. :-[

Anyway, John, Terry n Lionel aside...who else here is from the list below?

http://ozmoto.net/members.html

...I'm surprised it's still here :eek...was only the post before this one that lead me to it

Ciao, the can :-)

Ahh, that would be me. I was over there for the VJMC National rally and spotted your bike with no sticker on it. Did a few others on my travels too.

Now I know who to thank when we catch up. Hope you had a good trip. We had a great trip in 2012 spending 2 weeks to get to Tamworth to see the Powerhouse MotorCycle Museum and visit all the places we had only previously down shifted to pass through. Was a great experience. Look forward to catching up with you sometime soon.

Came across OZSTOC while surfing the net looking for reviews on the ST, prior to buying one. It was the second best thing I ever did. The first was buying the ST.
Red, loud, rowdy, and proud.

I don't want a pickle...I just wanna ride my motorcikle!

I am surprised that as many as 33 current members claim to have been members from the original OzSTOC/Yahyoo group.
My first activity with the original group was a weekend get together in the Bunya Mountains, organised by Barry (Gold Coast). I rode up from Canberra, Ross and his wife Julie (not current members) from Newcastle and Laurie from the Northern Rivers district. The others were from the Brisbane area.
Later on I met Greencan, Pat (not a current member), Saaz and STroppy at one of the early Snowy rides.

We actually first met up going to meet Barry bringing his first BMW LT1200 back from Melbourne. I met Terry first at a local Madbikers ride.

Barry came on at least one possibly 2 Snowy Rides with us before he bought the Beemer . . . He had a very nicely painted Blue ST1100 with a mural? Painted on each Pannier. . .

I was on my first Black Dog Ride in 2012 not long after getting my bike in 2011. On the ride I noticed another couple of ST1300s and at the stop at Canungra, I pulled up beside them. The closest one belonged to STraya.

We had a quick chat about the bikes and David suggested I take a look for OzSTOC on the Web. When I got home I did, found it, joined and went on the next RTE which was at Esk. loved it so much I've remained after losing my bike in an accident just over 3 months ago.
