Clutch slipping and catching on take off in first.

almost seems as if its low on hydraulic fluid or pressure.

Cannot reliably duplicate  - annoying

any ideas?

maybe just needs adjusting.....Last year the dealer adjusted it for a shorter travel...and I did put the VFR levers on which are very nice

It spins catches, spins catches - disconcerting at a busy round about but then it will be fine for the rest of the day.

Seems to happen if I've had the clutch in for a while in traffic - not putting it neutral more often.

NO issue with upper gears.

First, try backing off the clutch lever 1 or 2 notches, the do a clutch fluid change. There may be air or moisture in the fluid that is expanding duet to heat when the cltch is held in. Its a pretty easy job.

Fluid was replaced along with the slave cylinder?? which was leaking

Oh well, perhaps a quick check, squeeze the clutch in, secure with a rubber band. Open and then close bleed screw.

If there is any residual air in there, that should pop it out..

I have very little facility to do any work on the machine but that sounds easy enough

Bleed screw is on the clutch slave cylinder down on the front of the engine. Just drop the lower (Grey) cowls
