Title: Tapatalk 4
Post by: Bluey on October 02, 2013, 08:41:44 AM
I went to use Tapatalk on my Samsung pad this morning and it is now trying to force me to upgrade to a paid version. Are there any (free) alternatives?

I am using an app called Convo. Free but a little limited. To get around limits I use the web interface on phone. This is on Android.

The paid version is only $2 or something, I like the new version heaps of good features Different layout but you get used to, but the is no need to upgrade

Thanks Pezzz, I tried Convo, found it very clunky to start with, then it kept crashing after I had logged in to the Ozstoc site.

Marcus, I have no option but to buy the full version, suddenly just won't run the old one, just takes me to Google Play. Almost like "Ransomware".

I guess I bite the bullet, stump up the $3.29 (US$ I would guess) by giving Google my credit card details. Hmmmmm......

Is anyone else having issues with Tapatalk on this forum?
Works fine for all my other forums but this one fails to connect.

Tapatalk is actually really great. I see all relevant posts as they appear and in the evening it is just a quick run through the unread section and all done :-)

Means i have to get a puter out and fire it up.
And browsers are annoyingly slow regardless of what you use.
Only good thing about browsers are you can see all the emoticons..

I have just tried to upgrade Tapatalk to the latest version for this forum and it has just gone 'Ker-Plunk!'      :||||

No Tapatalk until further notice ... (hopefully only a short while).

Cheers, Diesel

It looks like it may not just be tapatalk.
I have tried signing in with 3 different android devices - Samsung Galaxy S1, Smasung Galaxy S2 and Acer Iconia A500 and they all get an internal server error when trying to access the forum.
This is using Standard Browser, Firefox and Chrome on these devices.
Also this was tried using Wireless connection and 3G in case it was IP related.

I feel that this problem is at the OzSTOC end - on the forum server. Tapatalk on my Galaxy Tab is working, but tells me there is a problem with the website.

Any one agree?

I am pleased to announce that Tapatalk is now operational again.       :thumbsup

I had to clear the data and cache for the app (or you can re-install it), then re-link to ozstoc.com and voila! Chat your fingers orf!

Cheers, Diesel

What's wrong with Microsoft Pezz, do you know of any other organisation or brand that you have to go to click start to shut it down?

New slogan for Microsoft, "designed by a Committee"
