Hello World.. from an old timer back on the road and free again..
« on: September 18, 2012, 07:27:42 PM »
Hi all,
A bit about me. About 20 Years ago I sold my GSX750 to buy my "nearly wife" a wedding present. Now, I have a "was my wife" and a new bike.
ST1100. White ex police bike.
Technology has moved on and I have so many questions so bear with me in my journey back and have a laugh at the accountant nerd who can break any computer around.
I have ridden a bit in the between time thanks largely to 4 brothers with more bikes than they can ride but I have to say, my ST is as good as anyhting they had and reminds me of the CB900F bld'or that I used to ride before the GSX.
Anyway, during the day I am a mild mannered accountant and on the weekends whenever I can, I plan to be the carefree spirit I used to be.
I am at Kings Beach, Caloundra, so drop me a line if you want to go for a blat some time.
I am also heading along to the Imbil rally in November. Happy to go with a crew if anyone else is going from around here.
Cheers guys and looking forward to making some new friends.

Bevan.

Welcome to the site KiwiRider. There are plenty of us in SE Qld that go for regular rides. ( RTE - Ride To Eat ) There are quite a few north of Brissy so you'll have plenty of opportunities to catch up with us. Mate there are lots of ST legends here that will answer any question you may have about the ST's. ( I'm not one of them. )
Sit back and enjoy the ride. Literally.
Cheers.
Skip.

Interesting journey to the ST.  Glad you finally reached the destination!!
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Welcome!  :hatwave

I'm trying to work out why there seems to be a disproportionate population of QLD members in this forum.....I reckon Monther Honda imports STs into Australia in limited numbers and only in via QLD. You guys get first go at the stocks and leave the slim pickings for the rest of us.

Thank your lucky stars we let you have some.

AND STs are never "slim pickings".  Every one is Premium Quality.

Welcome Bevan.  Just wait until the weather gets warmer down south to get all the riders out. Anyways, most people in Queensland actually come from other places, and NZ seems to be a favourite :)
