With my bike being back in Toowoomba I got a chance to get my helmet
which copped a fair wack on the concrete garden edge when I fell off
A Shoei Neotec saved my head and the reason I'm probably still here to talk about it
Shannon Insurance  have approved my claim and money being put in my Bank
As the Neotec has been superseded by the Neotec 2 I will get the new one
I had to cut the straps off and include in the photo with helmet

It very good to hear that they are replacing your helmet as part of the insurance, and even upgrading it :thumbsup

If it wasn't for my helmet I probably wouldn't be here today
I'm sure it has paid for itself. And I'm so lucky my insurance is paying for a new one. I'm just so lucky I decided to put my helmet back on before moving my bike.  Someone was looking over me

I went and seen surgeon today after having cat scan
He said all healing well I won't need another operation but just going to be slow recovery I go to physiotherapy tomorrow to work on strength and mobility
He has extended my sick leave to the end of September and no driving for a while yet. I will leave my options open for National rally at Mackay till it gets a bit closer
But it is not looking good

I have decided that I will not go to the National Rally in Mackay this year
As posted elsewhere my Daughter Shelly had a little boy on Monday in Townsville
They are all flying to Toowoomba on Wednesday 8th August to show him off to family
So I will stay in Toowoomba to introduce myself to my new Grandson and spend time with my Daughter Shelly and Grandson Owen
Thanks again for the offer of a seat in your car to Mackay  ++

From my experience, Grandfathers are pretty safe from that.  The Nannas seem to like the job.    >:()

I agree with you Biggles. I've only changed one in 8 years of having grandchildren and that was only because they put him the bed and then they went shopping. When he woke up he had had a nuclear reaction go off in his nappy, AND THEY WEREN'T HOME YET !!!!

Nappies don't bother me.

It's possibly because I've mucked out in dairies and pigstys, nappies are small fry.

I've lost count of the number I've changed in the last 2 years.

Update :-

I went back to the Surgeon on Monday and he gave me another 4 weeks off
The arm just taking its time to come good, getting old he said  :fp
I try to exercise 3 times a day which takes about 1/2 hr the do Hydro pool once a week
The Physio is happy with the improvement and each week I find new things I can do
The Surgeon said no riding yet, but still waiting on Toowoomba Motorcycles to repair my bike
When it arrived there I told them no rush as I won't be riding for a while
But a month ago I give them a rev up and said I want my bike home so they put a claim into Shannon Insurance
Who approved the repair plus added a few extra's from the photo's that were sent to them
So parts have been ordered and they say about mid October before I get it back
So I don't know if I will make the RTE to Kenilworth Hotel on the 17th November  :hatwave
It has been a slow progress but not riding till I know it is strong enough to hold the weight of my ST

Good to hear, Rosie.
Having said that, the STs are mean gals to hold up when they get a lean going.  I think you're going to have to avoid every situation where you have to "hold her up"- or just let it drop and get help lifting back up.

Getting older and things def take a bit longer to heal.... Wish we healed like we did in our 20's :-)

Are you going stir crazy yet, or is the garden occuping your time (not that there is much rain)?

Good to hear about your on-going improvement.   Each tiny improvement is a step towards a good recovery.   Strength, determination and endurance will pay off in the long term.

I imagine that you are looking forward to having the bike back in your shed and in good shape.  You can then tinker with it, and sit on it making Brooom, Brooom noises until you are ready to ride again.

Yes the old body is slowly to repair but I have never had an injury this bad before
No not crazy yet but the garden keeps me sane, but a few inches of rain would be good
But got some good mates keeping me busy

Update
I got a phone call from Toowoomba Motorcycles yesterday telling me that all the parts are in and they will be starting on my bike next week  :hatwave
Injury update
I had a hernia operation n Monday which has slowed me up a bit, it happened about 1 weeks before I went to Adelaide but wasn't that painful so I still went down
Talking to the shoulder/arm surgeon last time he said I may as well get it fixed so I did
4 to 6 weeks recovery  :fp
About the recovery of the arm it will be 6 months post surgery next Thursday even though physio is coming along slowly I am still a long way of being being fully recovered I have most of my strength back in my arm but I still struggle raising my arm up and down getting thing from on top on cupboards and high shelves is a problem and exercises from the physio don't seem to be helping
So in the next few weeks he has a get together with other Surgeons he is going to discuss my case and maybe operate again and remove the plate and screws and have a look around on the shoulder end of the Humerus there is a lump on the end that they may have to be smoothed off
Just got to wait and see
Hopefully if no operation I may get a ride in before Christmas  :grin
