The Big Chopper - Nyngan NSW

I expect the pedants to claim that it's not big, but it is big.

The Big Cod - Tocumwall, NSW

Made in 1967, this was Australia's second Big Thing, and I've already posted the one at Swan Hill that we also visited and photographed.

I love magpies.  They're very intelligent and will respond to a suitable whistle.  They never quite tame, but they will become trusting.

The Big Road Runner - South of Nyngan on the Tottenham Road.   It was a toss up between "Unusual Letterboxes" or "Big Things" but big things won, in keeping with the theme of our ride.

There's a second picture of another big bogan.

Well, it is bigger than most.  There are bigger.  There was a Russian one in PNG that could lift 20 tonnes.

Thus ends the installment of Big Things from our recent five day "Big Things" quest.    Fish snagged a few others that I've previously posted.

You two certainly had a good time!  What a great idea- go in search of the interesting and unusual.  All made much easier by having someone wanting to do exactly the same thing.  And I did see a couple of pix of The Big "Fish".

The Big Chopper

I used to work on that chopper, its certainly big enough. I have flown it as well. I also worked on the DC3 (not that one) at Pearce, and its bigger than a Cessna 172.

The topic is "STs in front of big things"

The DC3 is a big thing compared to a bike but it's not a "Big" DC3 since it is the original size so for me it's still ok.

It is because saw blades usually don't come in that size; The largest working one I have seen would have been about 1500 mm (5 feet) in diameter in what once BHP Whyalla.

I seem to recall as a kid, seeing a working, rather large, circular saw blade at an old timber mill, which was used to turn Cedar trees into planks. The one I saw was also steam powered.

Similar to this, but from memory bigger.
