Title: Buying items off fellow members from website
Post by: Moonface on June 09, 2019, 09:12:11 AM
Streak

This is probably for you
In February 25/2/19 I showed interest in buying a couple of items from bloodbikes which is on the site but then nothing further.

Does any correspondence then go to my personal email? Did I not follow some protocol?

Just curious.  I probably couldn't now fit into the leather trousers anyway.

Bloodbikes isnt on the site very often, as he is a FIFO worker.

Send him a PM or Email he should get those.

Just like buying from any website its 'buyer beware', descriptions may not always be accurate.
I trust most members here as most act with integrity, but there are always 'others' who don't! :well :OldMan
just saying it as a warning to all.
Brock feel free to remove my post if you think its not warranted here. :spank
Bloodbikes this is NOT focused at you in any way, it is meant as a generalised warning to all about online sight unseen buying online. o:)

I have bought items from many members over the years and have always received anything I have brought :thumbs

As we are not businesses but just individual people there is always a chance that life will get in the way and distract people from answering :fp

However in my experience if you don't hear from someone for a while try sending another Personal Message or email :thumbsup

Evening All,

Something to consider with contacting via a PM.

If a member contacts you via a Forum PM your email will get a notification email from OzSTOC, if you have that option activated in your account settings....the mistake some will make is reply to the email notification that has the content of the PM message. Unfortunately the email you send doesn't go back to the PM sender but to the OzSToc notification email address.

Hence the original sender of the PM doesn't get your reply that you believe you sent to them.

In short the email from OzSTOC is a notification only that you have received a PM. You now need to respond to the PM on the forum site.

Cheers

Chris

Like Shiney, I've had my share of purchases from members and sold to members as well.

I've always received what I ordered and endeavored to accurately describe what I'm selling including photos.

Even some purchasers have been slow to respond with work and family life getting in the way. A follow up message often helps.

I have bought from Bloodbikes and am very satisfied with purchases. As Brock said, Bloodbikes is a fly in fly out worker who can be out of contact for weeks at a time, but will attend to any outstanding business on his return. And, again as Brock said, best to send BB a personal message through the OzSTOC webpage.

Cheers

Terry
