Well, at at darkish o'clock, myself and Dave Roper had arranged to meet up behind KFC in Midland. When we arrived, there were 5 other bikes as well.
At 0700 we headed off up the hill into the rising sun, the light filtering through the roadside trees in a kaleidoscope of colour, light and shadow that made the road bloody hard to see. :eek
video of the ride here
Here we are parked up in front of Saints Diner in York, a more bike friendly establishment you couldnt find, the only parking in front is for bikes only, and they even have a visor cleaning station. Accommodation is also to be had for those who want to spend the night in this historic town.

Gavo (who lives just down the road) turned up with his wallet and bike 10 minutes after the photo was taken, here is his pic of the line up

Some interesting posters on the notice board

An historic wall plaque

The nearly record winning group photo, we were let down by the non arrival of STRay (slept in) and the non arrival of a ladies shirt (I suspect skulduggery here)

(John, Mitch, [ Mrs Mitch], Theresa (thans to zooming in on original pic), Glen, Simon (Owner), Gavo, Malcolm, Dave, Brock (Me) )
The Gentleman at the right rear of the pic is Simon, the owner of the diner.
Breakfast came out quickly, along with a variety of coffees. The meals were excellent, the service and staff also excellent. We spent a leisurely 2 hrs sitting eating and talking, before breaking up to go shopping or head for home.
Here be (soon) video of the run down the hill.
Temp had hit 39 by the time we had reached the Lakes, Mitch Dave and myself stopped for a cool drink, and John broke away and headed home. All in all, a brilliant morning.
I got home about 1300, after stopping to refuel the bike after a 7 hr trip and 250 ks (only used 13 litres of unleaded too).

Is there a prize for picking the difference between the last two photos :think1 Looking forward to some video footage as haven't been out that way since the early 80s.
-
No prize,
Just a slightly different angle. I'm waiting for the video to upload, might take a while
-
The difference in the photos, is that the lady at the rear is taking a drink in the top picture.
Here is a sign that caught my eye.

Thats the beauty of this camera, just set it up and remember to turn on power. Then remember to use the remote to start n stop the recording, Even Ray could handle that if he remembers to get out of bed. :grin :grin :grin

I missed out on this one,
Thats cos I live in the country, and its a little too far for me to go down to town for a breakfast.
