Title: G'day all - new ST1300 owner
Post by: Spook Coder on November 07, 2015, 06:44:19 PM: Hi champions, My name is Dan and I ride out of the city of Shellharbour NSW. I am the new owner of a metallic grey 2008 ST1300, Picked it up just over 24 hours ago and loving it. I'm doing a lot of research on this bike after the fact as the wife and I had not been looking for an ST. We were thinking maybe FJR1300 or another GSX1400. Spent a day riding around Sydney viewing disappointments and had come late in the afternoon to the last shop of the day, and another not so great bike. Leaving the dealership we spotted it, I knew we likely couldn't afford it but asked anyway, the price was surprisingly good and by the end of the test ride I had to have it!

It replaces a Thunderbird 1600 which has been great but isn't really a 700km a day bike, before that a GSX1400 which we ran up a lot of touring km on, a GSX750F and my original GPX250 haha.

Hope to meet some other riders out and about, learn from the experienced masses and hopefully offer some help if I can!

Gday Dan and welcome to THE place for all things ST.. there's a few around the Gong and your area. I'm in Picton and ride a 1998 ST1100.
There's a RTE liST for NSW so check it out and maybe we'll meet at it.
Don't be afraid to ask queSTions here. there is a wealth of knowledge and many to offer assistance

Welcome 2 the forum where good STriders have their say. The metallic grey STeeds do look grouse - not red but still very smart. ;) You're just down the road from the 'Gong so will catch up in the future at some nearby RTE (Ride To Eat). Enjoy your new ride.
