Well, after quite a bit of tinkering and farkling I could not get my ST1300 to be comfortable on my IBA rides. So a finance company was foolish enough to give me finance and the time came last week to bite the bullet and go the whole hog for an upgrade. so bye :'( :'( to Black Betty:

Or try The Honda Shop in Midland direct. If anyone wants a good low mileage 1300, have a look at it. ++
It is quite a bargain at the price they have on it.
They gave me a good deal on a "new" 2014 GL1800:

It is a 2yr old Demo with bugger all K's on it. :Blow
I picked it up Wednesday night, and in true FarRider style I racked up enough K's this morning that it is already due for its first service! :thumbs
Got back after the ride, no sore knees, no sore butt, no sore shoulders. Looking good so far, just have to find the time for the real test, an IBA ride. :thumb
Already booked for next Saturday when I picked it up!
I still have 'roo killer ( ST1100 ), but if any one wants an ST1100..........................................................

Congrats on the new ride Ray. Just a few hints for others - Changing the seats around can save lots of dollars before changing the bike -
1) Changing the OEM seating height position by dropping the rear down and lifting the front up makes a huge difference to the comfort of the OEM seat and daily distance ridden
2) A GoodWool seat cover gives even more comfort
3) Sargeant seats meant I went from 3-400 km days to 800-1000km days
4) Russell day long seats can improve this figure even further.

I tried the trick with the seat height and it stopped me from becoming a soprano, but I still had BIG problems with my knees and shoulders.
The dead sheep helped a little bit, not much.
Thought about getting a Russell seat, but the way they aussie dollar is, it was a lot of money to spend on something that may have solved the sore butt, but probably would not solve the sore knees and shoulders.

We've got to do something to stop all these people rushing out and buying Goldwings!!! :-(((

Nice one Ray. Blackduck has its twin Sister from Midland Honda (Blue 2014) an I have its red (2014) brother from Brisbane. Mine was a Honda Australia demo with 1,730 kms. Before finalizing the deal I rode it around the block. The next time I got on it I rode it home. 5,074 kms.
Bring it to Quindanning on Sunday for lunch and it will be a case of try and find an ST amongst the GLs.

I'll try and make it for the ride next weekend, bit busy tho.
I wanted a red one, but there hasn't been any available for a loooooooooong time!

Congratulations on the new bike mate :thumbs

Your right again Ray, red and/or white are the best colours :thumbs
