Hi everyone my name is Paul.
I live in Christchurch New Zealand. I am 53 & have had bikes since around 13 years old. Have had all sorts of different bikes over the years, road bikes, dirt bikes & race bikes. I haven't owned a bike for the road for 32 years, but have had several dirt bikes & race bikes during that time.
I finally decided I needed to get back on the road before I was too old to do it any more.
I test rode a few different bikes & was looking to get a FJR1300 Yamaha, but after riding two of them I thought they were truly horrible.
I got a 2007 Honda CBF1000 ABS a couple of months ago & I am loving every minute of every ride. Like a complete time capsule.
I have discovered the ST1300 since & read all about it.
I have just put a deposit on a new ST1300 and traded my CBF.
For a bike I have ridden only for a very short time, I'm really going to miss the "biffer" but was amazed at how nice the ST1300 is & how nice a ride it is.
Just eats up the kilometers.
I didn't want to get off the test bike this morning.
Looking forward to picking it up next week.

Grretings Paul and welcome from West Oz.
Good to see you found your way here.

Welcome from Brisbane Queensland.
Glad you found us.
RJGardner is on the North Island and occasionally organisers RTEs (Ride To Eat) for the North Island.
I envy some of the beautiful roads you have over there for riding.
I loved the drive from Kaikoura through Waiau to Hamner Springs. I think that would be a fantastic ride on the ST1300.
I am curious because you said NEW ST1300. What year model is it? We haven't had new ones since the 2010 model.
And post yout location (approx) in the Member Map.
Enjoy! :hatwave :beer

Yep the bike is definitely brand new - still in the crate.
I have seen it & two others at our local Honda dealership.
I have been told it is model year 2014 but I am dubious of that because I realize Honda stopped making them a while ago now.
So until he supplies me with the frame number I don't know.
