Would the timing of this be possible to coincide with Diesel's escorted tour to his inevitable date with destiny to get a 2nd head installed in the dark depths of Taswegia or are the stars not aligning for this to be done ?

Good idea but I don't think it'll work as Diesel is stopping by on TUESDAY 27th September and I'm trying to make it a weekend thing to make it easier for more people to attend :thumb

We are going to be showing the removal of the side plastic and how to revive an old ST1300 rear shock (by replacing the oil in it) :thumbsup

  Navgirl has mentioned that if the pillions come for the maintenance day she could take them into town for a coffee and a look around the gift / plant shop+ all the others

I do believe their will be at least the following on the agenda:
• A demonstration of how to remove the Tupperware
• Something to do with the rear shock absorber.
• Any issue someone wants help with, of which the collective may have knowledge.

Gadget is right on the money, thanks mate :-++

As for the shock absorber, PC will be showing us how to replace the oil in it :thumbsup
This oil allows the suspension to be adjusted with the big plastic dial on the left of the bike below the seat.

Are you aware the apparently LEDs dont last long, as the heat from the headlight cook them.

I was joined by Draco for the ride out and what a great ride it was :runyay
(Apart from some annoying detours near the beginning of the ride due to an accident :fp)

Anyway we arrived and met up with PC and Navgirl then were joined by Gnomad42 a little while later.

PC did a great job on fixing the rear shocker on Draco's Blue Beast and we went over a few things on Gnomad42's ST1100.
We enjoyed some great sandwiches and coffee (thanks Navgirl) and a bit of cake (Thanks to Gnomad42).

After this and a bit more chatting we headed for home.
There was a bit of rain but it was a good ride :thumbsup

Thanks to all involved for a great day out, and running an eye over my old 1100.
The ride home was much nicer with the adjusted handlebars.

I now have a (longer) list of things to do;
starting with polishing the boot marks of my panniers,
follow up with a new lower seat (I'm only 5'6"),
then the Laminar Lip for the screen,
before I even look at farkles like lights & radios..
