South Australia, I just got my renewal in today
both 1100 and 1300s are:-
3 months $123.00
12 months $454.00
Forgot to mention that this a country rate and is slightly cheaper than a bike registered in the city. In that case fees are:-
3 months $145
12 Months $498
-
I cant find the last rego papers, but the year before was $223.55, so lets say in the order of $250
-
Last year I paid $406 in Qld. I think the 11 & 13 will be the same here.
-
ACT $588 up until November 2012. We don't have any choice, just NRMA for the third party cover.
Breakdown is registration $96, CTPI $474, and road rescue and safety fees $18.
-
Mine was $224 last month for Qld (1 year), single seat rego though, gotta love it!
-
Brock. Is that for a single seat.
-
Skip,
No difference in WA, it doesnt matter if a bike can be 1 up or 2 rego is the same.
-
For ST1300 rego alone in NSW the price is $112, but then CTP insurance of $509.00 (cheapest) gets added so the total comes to :think1 :CB-- $621
For the ST1100 the CTP is $330 (this is with GIO who are the cheapest).
All this is for a bike housed in Castle Hill
-

That's odd, since the largest component is the CTP, and the risk to the insurer is doubled with 2 seats.
-
Not really this is WA (Wait Awhile) silly ideas like charging more for 2 seats has not been thought of yet give it 5 years SHhhh :whistle

If they're slow on the uptake about taxing folk I might be looking for an Entry Visa.
Over here they tax the water! You think I'm kidding, don't you?
-
Why do you think I moved here from Vic in 1986
-
That's nothin Biggles. The Feds have worked out a way to tax air. Yep. The call it a "carbon tax" . My dear old Dad once said " Son, one day they work out how to tax the air we breathe".
-
Why do you think I moved here from Vic in 1986
Because you were tired of freezing your gonads off 9 months of the year?
-
Yeah that's true, tho here It's too bloody hot to ride 3 months of the year
-
ST1300 rego renewed 2 Months ago in WA $225.05 for 12 months. :beer
More money to spend on fuel for more riding :thumbsup Gotta love that !!! :grin

Your joking ,must be the cop bikes are cheaper than the rest of us. Good luck to you Brock. Can I register my bike at your place cheers :blk13
-
In Vic I paid $ 510.00 looks like we have to move to WA
Cheers :|||| :|||| :|||| :blk13

No rego label in WA, so that must be the difference...
-
saaz its lot of money for a sticker. :well
Maybe we have to get Brock to get his big stick out and start wooping govt arse. :think1 :spank :spank :spank :blk13
-
No rego label in WA, so that must be the difference...
No label in SA since July 2011 either.
Royalties from the mines certainly helps WA plus their rego system is weight based for most vehicles.
and :hijacked country pensioners who don't have access to public transport get a $500 a year fuel/taxi voucher to make up for no access to pensioner fare concessions.
-
In Qld it looks like the size of bike is irrelevant, it's just single or dual seat. I was half-thinking about getting a 125 scooter to get in and out of town, but without changing it to a single seat rego would be the full $406. Third Party Property insurance was also pretty much the same as the ST.
Seems crazy to me, but then I'm still used to the UK system where capacity affects the road tax and insurance group affects the insurance. Still, seems pretty pointless to get a scooter which is a shame.

SA is capacity based as well :-
upto 250cc.......most learners
251 to 660cc - includes some LAMS models
and 661cc plus
Difference is only in CTP premium and looks like SA is the only state that as reduced rates for non metropolitan areas
-
Too much :cuss
-
hey Brock,
you got room in your yard for some tents? I think you might be getting some long term visitors :rofl :rofl :rd13
-

It's all in the CTPI- obviously they have a lot more m/c injuries up there. Or maybe there's not enough m/cs to share around the amount of money they need to raise from m/c CTPI. Whatever the case, it's iniquitous.
-
Looks like once again WA wins :thumbsup

Thats just WA compared to the Eastern States Scarp :butt
Great Weather, Good Roads, Great People and Reasonably Priced Rego :nahnah

Winston66,
Just checked out my rego.
For 12 months it is a total of$225.05
This is broken down to(1) a rip off of $13.05 recording fee. I do not know of any other system that charges you for taking your money.
A licence component of $59.20
Insurance of $126.32,
GST on insurance of $12.63,
Stamp duty on insurance of$13.85.
This totals $225.05
Which compared to some of the other states does not seem to be all that excessive, but I am very glad that it is not any more , seeing that I have two rides to pay for.
Cheers ,
winston66, northampton.

Maybe all us people on the east could camp at your place, seeing you have the cheapest rego Glen. It's only fair

Adam,
Once I have finished widening my driveway (see photo) and installing a double carport I will have room for your bikes but you may need to sleep in a tent.

Looks like you have a pool too, think I'll come as well BTW is there room to park my Caravan out the front?
-
Could park a boat there as well. Better make that driveway really big
-
Mine was $224 last month for Qld (1 year), single seat rego though, gotta love it!
+1 to what Des said.. and people don't pester you to take them for a ride on the back.. :thumbs

Too right, and since I never take a pillion it's great for me. The only downside is that I can't really strap stuff over the hump like I could if it was a seat, but I'll think of something. The single seat rego is what swung this ST for me.

Depends on who is doing the pestering..
-
Gavo,
That photo was taken early February. Since then more concrete has been broken up and taken to the tip. Green dome installed behind the letter box and under power run to it from the pole across the road. Cable run from to exisitng meter box to new meter box location on the block wall . Now waiting on powder coating of new electrical and gas meter boxes. Once they are installed and connected I can go back to demolition which is currently stopped due to a gas line running down the garden retaining wall. 7.1 m x 6 m carport ordered.
-
Well, back on track for a new year.
Just arrived - January2013
ST1100 - Sydney
Registration $59.00
M/V Tax $57.00
Sub Total $116.00
CTP with Shannons (4 vehicles in total with them)
$411.20 - 2 seater
Grand Total = $527.20
-
Mine is off the road at the moment so I've let the rego slide until I need it again.
Figures for my 1100 in SA for a year: 3 month option
Registration...........................$ 36.00 $10.00
Admin Fee..............................$ 7.00 $ 7.00
Emergency Services Levy........$ 24.00 $ 6.00 (towards Fire/Ambulance costs)
S/Duty on CTP Insurance.......$ 60.00 $15.00
CTP........................................$305.73 $78.96
GST On CTP............................$ 27.27 $ 7.04
Total.......................................$460.00 $124.00
We don't need to go looking for CTP insurance as it's all done through the rego office.
CTP is cheaper for country residents as opposed to the city. It seems city people cause more accidents so their premiums are a little higher. My CTP reflects the country rate.

In Queensland we don't have to do anything about the CTP and it defaults to GIO (I think).
We can elect to have another insurer. I go with RACQ which gives me a $10 discount on my RACQ annual membership.
I'm not aware of a discount for country Qld, but Sabie or someone out there might know.
We can only elect to pay 6 monthly, and there is an $8.65 admin charge for the privilege as well as $16 extra for the CTP admin.
There is also a $50 penalty for late payment.
My 06/12 rego for the ST13 was $409.30 of which $253.00 was CTP.
-
Methinks I'm being screwed!!!
NT, both ST1100 and ST1300 the same at $762.15 for 12 months including CTP. Rego and admin come to $24, the rest is insurance, AND we get no choice of insurer, it's TIO.

I have a dirt bike which I only ride in the bush and it cost me $68.00 a year. It's rec reg and covers me for the same as full rego. :thumbsup :blk13
