Title: GL1200 Goldwing.

I had a knock on the door this afternoon and since I have the 1100 I've been given first option on a GL1200 Aspencade SE1 plus the bike trailer it's sitting in. Basics are 78,000 km, towbar, driving lights, cruise control and $6500 including the trailer (mobile garage). Have to see if dad might lend us the money......

Interesting offer,  those seats do look comfortable and it has a few farkles as well.   You will never get Heather off of the rear seat if you ever want to go solo.   It looks like a tough decision has to be made.  Does the shirt come with it?

Notice it doesn't appear to be registered. Is it an Australian model or a private import? If a private import check the ease of registering it in SA.
But looks interesting. What year is it?

Thankfully the shirt doesn't come with it.

Sound system is a cassette player and maybe there's a CB radio as well. It also comes with two helmets which have Honda's plug in rider intercom. A rider back rest is also supplied but not set up on the bike. I like the rider foot boards but not sure about the heel and toe twin pedal gear shift.

Not registered but has old Vic rego label on it and owner has all the old Vic rego papers.

A very unusual and distinctive example of that (?)vintage 'Wing. Pin striping looks gr8.


Questions seem 2 b:
1) Do u need an xtra transport trailer that seems 2 be an integral part of the deal;
2) R u prepared 2 take up ciggies again 2 take advantage of the lighter (O, that's right - it's a powerlet);
3) A wired intercom compared 2 your Climder Bluetooth system (that I bought (and like) on your recommendation)???
4) How old r the helmets?
5) Will it get thru a Blueslip rego check without dramas?

Not really but not having a garage could mean a place to store it while not in use.

Could be swapped out for a proper water proof one.

Could come in handy if you don't mind unplugging yourself from the bike each time you get off.

Don't know and don't care........used helmets should be tossed as you have no clue as to their history

Don't have Blueslip or anything like it. SA only does an identity check and maybe a roadworthy being out of rego since 2010 (on the old label). If the vehicle matches the details on the compliance plate (if fitted in those days) or the what they used before then generally its approved.

The negatives with this one is the length of time being off the road. Tyre tread is good but how old are they? Is it a grey import or not?

Not an issue for me as I told the guy I didn't have the cash for it and would see if dad could lend the cash but he can't as expected. Plus I prefer to get a low km 1800 in a few years time if I go that way.

If you find out who the buyer eventually is I have a complete one of those dismantled here in blue. Everything is available except the frame and bars.

It has about 50 extra lights on it if one is into bling  >:()

The date of manufacture is on all tyres in year and day format, the final drive is similar to the 1100, only the cush rubbers are different, I would remove the wheel to check that out.
