Title: New to ST1100 not Honda v4"s
Post by: Cnav on December 15, 2015, 07:34:53 PM
Hi all , just purchased my first st1100 last week , I'm already a fan of the Honda v4's having two vfr800's in the shed a 1999 cam driven and 2010 vtec, saw a good st1100 com up on gumtree and thought why not, it's a 1999 with 112k on the clock ,eagle screen and stain tune mufflers. The guy I bought it off said it handles badly , I rode it and agreed but also suspected low air in tyres, yes after buying it, found them both at 22psi. Pumped them up and hey presto the bike now handles. Only has small rides so far, took the better half for a ride and it's by far the best two up bike we have ridden, very smooth. Can't wait for a country ride stretch its legs. Seems that you guys are a fountain of knowledge on the st"s after browsing this forum. Thanks for all the good info....Craig

Hi Craig,

Welcome to Ozstoc from Peterborough SA.....

Your tyre issue reminded me of a time when I swapped a fairly rough FJ Holden for A VK Valiant. Owner of the car yard wanted an FJ for restoration so was keen for the swap. The Valiant was kept in a barn before being traded and it only ran on 5 cylinders. Dealer mechanic couldn't figure it out but I guessed it was a broken or failed spark plug. Replaced the plugs and all was running 100%. I got the better deal.
